Join us for the second episode in our three-part finale as we wrap up Season 2 of the Cardinal Fly By Podcast. This episode features heartfelt reflections and words of wisdom from three standout graduates—Jason Huynh, Emma Wood, and Jonah Gomez—each of whom earned the honor of speaking at Osborne High School’s graduation ceremony due to their exceptional merit and involvement.

Jason, Emma, and Jonah share how they immersed themselves in the life of the school, from leading clubs and participating in activities to forming strong connections with the teachers who supported them through both challenges and victories. Their high school journeys began in the wake of the pandemic, as they transitioned from remote learning to reacclimating to the rhythms of traditional high school life. With the encouragement of their peers and teachers, they found stability, purpose, and belonging.

Throughout the episode, the graduates give numerous shout-outs to teachers who inspired, challenged, and believed in them. They speak candidly about the many opportunities Osborne provided—through academics, leadership roles, and extracurricular activities—that helped shape them into confident, capable young adults. They also offer a glimpse into their futures, which include military service, college degrees, and aspirations for graduate study.

These three graduates represent the spirit and strength of Osborne’s record-setting Class of 2025.

Once a Cardinal, Always a Cardinal.

In this fired-up episode of The Cardinal Fly By, we’re joined by none other than Chris Slaughter—a man who turned hustle into a lifestyle. From starting his business with nothing but a single 2005 Toyota Camry, he’s grown it into a powerhouse fleet that now includes award-winning tow trucks, a semi truck, and a lineup of sleek luxury vehicles. Chris brings the realness, the grind, and the gold in this can’t-miss conversation. You’ll laugh, you’ll nod, and you’ll walk away motivated to chase your own version of success.

We’re also putting the spotlight on Senior Spotlight!  This is your chance to celebrate our phenomenal Class of 2025—and you can do it for just $20.25. That’s right, for less than a pizza, you can help recognize a senior and be part of something bigger. One of the most heartwarming moments so far? Our amazing custodial staff came together to donate $500 toward the cause. That’s love. That’s community. That’s Osborne. And the staff isn't stopping until they raise $3,500! CLICK HERE to support Senior Spotlight!

Chris opens up about the grit it took to build his company—how he weathered the hard days and powered through the long nights. Through it all, one thing never wavered: his love for his daughter. And as his business was growing, both Smitha and Osborne showed up in big ways to support her journey. That backing, that belief—it mattered. It fueled him. And it shows just how deep our community roots run. It’s also why he’s donated to Senior Spotlight last year, this year, and for the foreseeable future—to make sure students like his daughter, and families like his, have access to one of the best ways to celebrate the conclusion of their educational journey.
