On today's episode I got a chance to sit down with actor, writer, and director Dario Caudana. Dario talks about growing up in California, his relocation to the east coast, and the journey that led him to making his first dark comedy short "Receding". 

I also have a new Bethany story in the intro for those interested in my personal life. 

On today's episode I got a chance to sit down with Jenna Sofia who's work as both performer and writer-director is driven by a desire to investigate human stories and excavate the myth, folklore and other sacred stories therein. Second Seed: Part 1 was Jenna’s theatrical, musical investigation into personal and familial myth and folklore (Dixon Place). 

The next best step for this investigation was founding Second Seed Productions, a company devoted to upholding the sacred stories. The idea was to first deconstruct and understand her own personal lore and that of her family, in order to be able to widen circles and explore legend and lore of the whole human family. Break the Camera was the company’s premiere project and Jenna’s directorial debut in film (6 Official Selections including Mill Valley Film Festival, 2 nominations, and 3 awards, including Best Experimental Short [Amazing Shorts! Film Festival in Madrid]).

I also talk about the end of the world and freaking out at Costco in the intro. You don't want to miss that. 

On today's episode of The Cary Allen Picture Show I got a chance to talk to Victoria Blade a most wonderful actress, writer, and filmmaker and cover a lot of ground like auditioning for musicals as children and how certain words look weird when we spell them.

I also talk about two major life events in the intro. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THAT.

"I am an actor, musician and filmmaker recently transplanted to Atlanta via Brooklyn. I grew up in Michigan pursuing theatre and music from an early age. After graduating from Western Michigan University, I married my college sweetheart and moved to Chicago where I began working professionally in theatre, television and independent films. During my Chicago days, I also started my first band and studied at the School at Steppenwolf.  

 I recently wrote, produced and directed my first film – Alien Baby, in which I play a neurotic office employee who comes face to face with the unavoidable weirdness of childbirth. I’ve never had a baby, but it seems pretty weird!

 I have kept busy working in commercials, theatre, TV and film while writing several on-screen projects. I'm currently working on my debut solo album. I also help run my husband's independent record label Already Dead Tapes. "

Today I sit down with Joshua Youngerman a fantastic actor and super interesting human. We talk about lots of stuff including baseball, sex scene awards, and much much more.

Joshua Youngerman has been acting in both films and theatre since starting college.  His stage work while training includes Oedipus the Prequel (23:59); Arcadia (MU Department of Theatre); Meltdown (Spectrum Theatre Ensemble); Bryony Lavery’s Illyria (Queen Mary Theatre Company); Measure for Measure (LAMDA); and Interview, 1946 and Bug (Rose Bruford College) .  His English professional stage work includes Merchant of Venice (The Cambria); The Hottest Day (The Space); and A Defintion of Love, Bread, and A Stairway to Heaven (Theatre Royal, Bath).  His American professional stage work includes Jig A Boo & The Execution and the Rapture  (Playwriting Collective); Bird (Primary Stages, ESPA) written by Nat Cassidy; and Paving (Crashbox Theatre Company).  His film work includes Confession (Envelope Sky Productions); A New Project (Helicopters Sing); Orthodox (Zeitgeist Films) with Stephen Graham; Jagoda (Smokescreen Pictures); and Most Beautiful Island (Glass Eye Pix).  He recently completed filming on independent drama Easy Living (Bay Bridge Productions) with Caroline Davernas (Hannibal) and Elizabeth Marvel (House of Cards).   Trained at Acting Studio Chicago, University of Missouri, LAMDA, and got an MA in Acting at Rose Bruford College, a DRAMAUK institution that graduated Gary Oldman and Lake Bell. 

This is hands down one of the funniest episodes of The Cary Allen Picture Show and also marks the 50th episode of the show! 

Jon Sosis is a comedy writer/producer from Brooklyn, NY who hates writing in the third person, but will suffer through it for this. With a BA in Television Production, Jon is currently the Director of Digital Products for Warner Music Group while also running his independent Say It Ain't Sosis Productions where he collaborates with other creators to develop and produce their smaller-budgeted projects and events. "Terms of Use" and "Labeled" are currently streaming online with his latest series "Anya Marina: Indie-pendent Woman" set to premiere in early February. 

Sitting down with 2019 Academy Award Shortlisters Celine Held & Logan George was an absolute treat. We talk about their work, how they get their films done with complete creative control, and biking around Brooklyn. It's a wonderful and fascinating conversation with two filmmakers who are not only making great films, but are truly great people as well.

Logan and Celine's work as a team has premiered in competition at Festival de Cannes, Sundance Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival, and at South by Southwest. They were named one of Filmmaker Magazine's 25 New Faces of Independent Film in 2017.

Ryan Willard is an actor, director, writer, and producer who's emotionally charged short film Quantum has been making the rounds on the festival circuit. We got a chance to sit down and talk about what inspired the film, his history as an actor, and growing up in Portland. 

He also compliments my apartment so...that was nice. 

Bethany Watson is an actress and producer based in NYC. Last year she left her high profile job to focus full time on her first loves: acting, creating scripted projects, and adopting inter-dimensional cats that find hidden portals in her apartment behind a refrigerator.

She's currently filming season 2 of "Labeled" the web series she co-produces and stars in. You can also hear her weekly podcast "An Acquired Taste" on iTunes and everywhere podcasts are available. 

F.E. Castleberry is a menswear designer with a flair and love of the cinematic. Through imagery and storytelling he elevates his brand with very clever visuals that I love flipping through. I got a chance to finally sit down and pick his brain after following him for nearly 8 years online. 

He also got me addicted to Sleepy Jones pajamas. 

Today on the show I wrap up my Adirondack Film Festival talking with John W. Yost (APB Film Collective) and James Abrams (Caramel Hippo Studios) in the hotel room. This was a great chat with two fun guys doing some great work in the Adirondacks.
