This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Colleton County, South Carolina, to discuss the case of Cristina Pangalangan, a teenager girl living with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and scoliosis. She was non-verbal and depended on her mother, Rita, for all of her day to day needs. Although, Rita, who was a school teacher, had been on CPS's radar, nothing was ever done to remove Cristina from her care. But in August of 2019, tragedy stuck after Rita left her daughter in the back of her Volkswagen Jetta for 6 hours in the scorching Carolina heat in her boyfriend's driveway, while the two smoked meth and hooked up inside.
