  • The Catch Episode #25 with Michael O'Connor
Join us for a conversation with Michael O'Connor, author of Sermon on the Mound: Finding God at the Heart of the Game.
There is God and baseball. Everything else is sports and religion, says Michael O'Connor, who came to know Christ as a result of Bill Buckner's famous error in the 1986 World Series. The game of baseball may seem an unlikely parallel to God's working in a heart and life-but for Michael O'Connor it was and is. With the perfect blend of wry humor and baseball anecdotes, the book entertains as it teaches valuable lessons about the Christian life, God's will, and much more.

  • The Catch Episode #24 with Pam Mark Hall
Please join us for a conversation with Pam Mark Hall.
"Thirty-six years ago, I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by a group of artists called “Discovery Art Guild” (DAG). The group was led by my mentor — author, speaker and musician, John Fischer. We all met weekly to study how the Bible was relevant to the Arts. As a result of DAG’s support, I recorded Flying and This Is Not A Dream.
Surprisingly, these two recordings took off on a national level and received numerous awards. In 1977, I felt honored that Record World Magazine selected me as the top Contemporary Christian Artist of the year. Along with John Fischer, I was considered one of the pioneers of the early “Jesus Music” movement." - PMH

  • The Catch Episode #23 with Poet, John Shirk
Join John on May 6th with his special guest, John Shirk from the Sacrificial Poet Project.
John is a poet. Not a very good one, maybe, he thinks, but he is a very good guy who writes poetry. John is also a 10 year veteran of the Chicago poetry slam and open mic scenes and is friends with some of the best poets and spoken word artists in the known universe. All of it. He also wrote a book about being a poet who follows Jesus in a place where lots of people don't care to. It's very interesting. I recommend reading it. John has been instrumental in the vision and shaping of the Sacrificial Poet Project from it's very inception. Even before it's inception. Pre-inception, if you will. He is one poet who really knows how to promote faith conversations through the art of spoken word poetry without inflicting egotistical carnage on unsuspecting poets in the name of truth. You can find him in Chicago at the In One Ear open mic, Mental Graffiti, and Weeds. Tell him we said hello.

  • The Catch Episode #22 with Randy Stonehill
We are excited to have Randy Stonehill join us on the the show Tuesday, April 29th.
The story of Randy Stonehill coming to Los Angeles in 1970 to apply for the job of “rock star” but finding Jesus instead has been told and retold innumerable times – often by Randy himself in songs like “Norman’s Kitchen”. His friendship with Larry Norman throughout the ‘70s has been celebrated in tunes and liner notes and more recently examined in the documentary film Fallen Angel. The contribution of this singer & songwriter over these forty some years has been substantial – in first pioneering popular rock music with a Christian point of view and later demonstrating a consistency in holding to the faith through the trials and tribulations of ordinary life.
Randy was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1985 for his duet with Amy Grant and in 1988 CCM Magazine acclaimed his 1976 album Welcome to Paradise as among the top three most influential albums in the contemporary Christian genre.
