You might know her as Your Behaviour Gal on the gram. Nicole Shallow is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst specializing in sleep. Her passion for sleep comes from her work with neurodivergent children and their families, as well as her own personal struggle with falling asleep and staying asleep. Through supporting her own sleep, and learning about the behaviors we can engage in during the day severely impacts sleep at night she knew she had to get the word out. 

Let’s be honest, we are all guilty AF of falling asleep with air pods in playing Grey’s Anatomy on repeat. After a lot of research, completing her graduate project on sleep, gaining mentorship in this area, and making a difference for her clients, SHE KNEW that she had to drop everything and specialize in sleep. She has personal experience with many people in her life (including her husband) who are managing the shift work life. 

Today we are getting into re-prioritizing sleep as the foundation in which you build your daily routines/actions, night shift hacks, support the nursing and shift work community, becoming more conscious of your behaviors, and how to find a rhythm that works for the life you want.

ADHD roundtable. Today we have on Jami Fregeau BSN CCRN SCRN. Also known as The Neurodivergent Nurse. At 36 years old she was diagnosed with ADHD and has been on a journey to learn about this diagnosis and how to navigate through it. She's had struggles throughout her nursing career but always knew there was something more! We talk about the real, raw, and embarrassing stories of living with ADHD and also on her podcast The Neurodivergent Nurse. 

Since receiving the diagnosis she started her podcast and IG account that focuses primarily on ADHD but a lot of it is focused towards women since the presentation can be significantly different than in men. Today we get into so many relatable conversations!

Today we are behind the mic with Kylee Nelson! Kylee is a Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) nurse passionate about making travel affordable and accessible to nurses. Inspiring nurses to travel both near and far, Kylee began Passports and Preemies in 2017 while volunteering in Skopje, North Macedonia as a way to advocate for the prevention of nurse burnout through traveling. Kylee is the original creator of the “8 Day Vacay” – a vacation geared towards nurses who aim to take advantage of the potentially 8 days off between work weeks with no need to use PTO.

Kylee is passionate about making travel affordable and accessible to nurses. Only one year into her career as a nurse, she began to feel burnt out. Still loving her job and not wanting to quit, she would oftentimes dread going to work. Enter Passports and Preemies! Kylee has since worked as a nurse worldwide, most recently in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Since her journey began, she has had the privilege of visiting 35/195 countries, 3/7 continents, and 31/50 states, Today we get into all things NICU Nursing, international nurse travel, entrepreneurship, content creation, and curating a life you love!
