The gospel of Jesus Christ is good news but it's also offensive, by nature. It tells us that we are sinners who have offended a holy God and that the wages of our sin is death—eternal separation from God in hell. 
When we're faithful to share the gospel with others, we can be assured that offense will be taken by some. But we can also be assured that the very gospel that offends is also the gospel that saves.
