  • 198. What is an Embodiment Practice

On today's episode, I will share what I've learned through my own embodiment practices and how they relate to The Enneagram, attachment styles, and self-leadership.  As a challenger on the Enneagram, I tend to lean towards more intense activities that teach me how to embody strength, confidence, humility, and direction in my life.

If you say someone embodies patience, you may see them pausing before they respond to you in ALL situations, no matter their emotional state. If you say that someone is present in the moment, you may see them joking or laughing with the group or supporting one person off to the side, speaking softly as they comfort them through a difficult time. If you say that someone is the embodiment of a quality, you may mean that that is their most noticeable characteristic or the basis of all they do.

  • 197. Empathy and The Challenger

On today's episode, I will walk you through how I learned that I needed to show more empathy for others and the journey I've been on since.  What is empathy?  There are three types of empathy: cognitive, emotional, and when you combine the two... compassionate.

It took a series of tough life experiences to show me that I could communicate with empathy in a more compassionate way.  In today's episode, I dig deeper into empathy with a Maya Angelou quote to exemplify this, "Do the best you can until you know better.  Once you know better, do better."

What comes up for you as you listen to today's episode?  Join us for a free week of group coaching to learn better how to use your intuition to communicate better with empathy in your relationships!  Click here to sign up now and for a limited time, I will include a 60 minute coaching call with me.

how have you communicated your boundaries in the past?  how would you like to communicate your boundaries today?  what will it look like to set healthy boundaries in the future?

these questions and more will be answered on today's solo podcast episode.  there are three kinds of boundaries we will discuss today: porous, healthy, and rigid.  and I can remember using all three at different times in my life.

we will dig deep into how the challenger personality type shows up when setting boundaries, how each attachment style feels about boundaries, and what self-leadership can do to enhance your communication when setting important boundaries. like a 2 am text, for example.  how would you handle a text message that late?

today, I will leave you with a few different ways to approach setting that boundary depending on your attachment style. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me on Instagram @thechallengerpodcast
