I had such an inspiring conversation with Britta about the importance of art in human thriving and communication. She has led such a vibrant life and her work reflects so many of her experiences and joys. As a mama of two littles, she gets creative in how she fits in time for herself to be able to play in the studio in order to feed her soul. I hope you enjoy this truly delightful episode and that it encourages you to play with art, too!

Local creative Dolores Mitchell and I had a great conversation over the phone on how she became an artist, art historian, and writer. One thing led to another and her journey brought her to Chico and it became her forever hometown! Dolores has been part of the art community here in Chico for years and has so many great things to say about our town and the opportunities it provides, and she drops some great nuggets of wisdom on how to keep your creative spark alive and well!

Jim Brobeck is a man with some good medicine for all of us through his words and music. He's been a lifelong advocate for caring for the planet and spreads that good word through some fantastic steel lap guitar which he generously shares with us in this episode. I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with him and left inspired to make some changes in my own life! Settle in and enjoy the episode, friends.

Join me for an honest and beautiful conversation about the healing power of art with Tatiana Allen! Tatiana, @thecraftycutie, has been on the Chico art scene for years and has so much to share about her story - things I never knew which give so much more depth and context to her beautiful, textural work and the community building that she not only participates in but spearheads, through things like Skycave Arts and The Maker's Cafe. This episode will inspire you to pick up a pencil and make some marks just for kicks - you never know what might happen!

In this episode, I have a conversation with Mahina Gannet and Sarah Schlobohm of the beloved downtown restaurant Momona, which happens to be coming up on its 10 year anniversary in September! Mahina and Sarah are clearly great friends and business partners and are such a delight to listen to, and this episode provides a fascinating look into the culinary arts and the partnerships and collaborations required to make the dream a reality. This episode will inspire you to get started and just do the thing you’ve been dreaming about already!

Follow @MomonaChico on IG or find https://momonachico.com online, and be sure to treat yourself to an incredible bevvie or bao (or the delicious Citrus Shoyu Ramen, my personal fav!) at the restaurant on Main and 4th right across the street from the downtown plaza!

In this next episode, I talk to Jessica Brierly of Feronia Designs. Jessica is an Earth Artist, tarot reader, designer, and a beautiful soul helping herself and others express their truest selves! In the episode we talk all about what led her to her current craft of giving new life to old bones, and how important it is to be a collaborator with life to discover and build a life you love for yourself.

In this next episode, I talk to Don Jules and Zach Graham of the Prog-Jam band Blü Egyptian, an up-and-coming party band that is one to watch! They came together during the pandemic for casual jam sessions which then evolved into over 400 headlining shows as the band you see today. We discuss the highs and lows of being a band on the road, hustling and doing all the legwork to make it a full-time gig in addition to creating a brand-new genre of music. This is an honest and inspiring look at the exciting and harrowing “middle stage” of this band’s career as touring musicians.
