Quietly tucked away behind the Murfreesboro Square you will find the Childress House that belonged to the brother in law of former President James K. Polk. Built in 1847, the old house is now a popular Airbnb location in middle Tennessee.

The historic home is believed to be haunted by former Union soldiers as well as slaves. In fact, there is a tunnel in one of the outbuilding that has been bricked up that supposedly led across the street.
