Alex Stone reports that a third of parents with kids who are 5-11 years old say they will get them vaccinated “right away.”  Another third says they will “wait and see” but they are not a no to the vaccine. The largest group of parents who have had kids quarantine from school have children in the 5-11 age group.

Illinois State Rep. Kelly Cassidy has introduced a bill that allows any resident to sue someone who “causes an unintended pregnancy” or commits domestic assault. As with Texas’s law, this could include anyone from an Uber driver to a bartender, but the Illinois version has a special twist. If the litigant wins their lawsuit against the person “causing” the unwanted pregnancy, they are entitled to $10,000. Half of the money would be placed in a state fund meant to pay for abortions for people in Texas who can’t get them in their home state.

San José Mayor Sam Liccardo, in partnership with Helium and California Emerging Technology Fund (CETF) will announce a first-of-its-kind, public-private partnership that minimizes financial barriers to broadband internet access for low-income San Joséans. This initiative uses HNT cryptocurrency converted to prepaid gift cards that will go to qualifying, low-income residents to subsidize their internet plans.

YouTube says it is banning all videos with vaccine misinformation and removing a number of prominent anti-vaccine accounts. In a blog post, YouTube said it would expand its policy on COVID-19 vaccine misinformation to apply to content regarding all vaccines "approved and confirmed to be safe and effective by local health authorities and the WHO." This includes misinformation on the flu shot and the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine.

"While the Giants and Dodgers have combined to win four of the last 11 World Series ... ."  Yes, while technically true, the Giants are doing the heavy lifting in that statement — winning the World Series in 2010, 2012 and 2014  — and, well, being crowned the champion of a 60-game regular season with a 16-team postseason tournament isn't exactly the same thing. You can put a big, fat asterisk next to the 2020 World Series winner due to COVID-19.
