Philippians 2:3-7:

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God,
 did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing
 by taking the very nature of a servant,
 being made in human likeness.”

Envy can sneak in so easily–especially in network marketing. Not being satisfied with what we have is the core of envy. Let’s take some time to remember how Jesus poured his life out without envy, and without distain. And let’s pray that our hearts may be formed more into His likeness.

Sometimes it’s exciting to grow, learn new things, and do better. And sometimes, this brings up pain and regret. What mistakes have I made in the past? I could have done such a better job? Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.

Earlier this week, we talked about giving to others what they want, not what we want. Let’s talk about what that looks like in network marketing.

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Today I tell you a story about how a little kindness in network marketing has changed thousands of people’s lives.

As we kick off looking at kindness, I thought it would be a good idea to bring in some “experts.”

1 Corinthians 13:1-8

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.  If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.  If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

This week we look at the second characteristic of love: kindness.  God is kind and is kind to us.  Let’s take a moment to let him show us how he is kind to us so that we can, in turn, show kindness to others.
