Acts 4:13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

How do we have the courage of Peter and John? We need to realize that their courage was built up over a course of time. We don’t just wake up courageous. Foolish yes, courageous, no. It takes small steps each day.

Deuteronomy 31:7-8

“Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, ‘Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.’”

John 14:17b-18

“The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”

We’re talking about courage.  And not the way that we just tell ourselves to “be courageous.”  We’re talking about the source of courage, the ins and outs, and how courage can change your business.

On this last day of our Upside Down Business series, we want to jump start your business with prayer.  Yesterday we prayed through some of our own hesitations in trusting God and trusting that service and giving of our own life is actually the best thing.  Today, we want to take some time to pray about who God might be calling us to serve.  And in what areas He may want to apply this upside down business strategy.  So, let’s not waste time, let’s jump in.

Matthew 16:25-16

“For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.  What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?”

It’s hard to trust this.  So, that’s where we focus our prayer today.  We are all in process, let’s ask God to help us live this life that is truly life.

Stuff is upside down with your team too. Some people think of their team as a means to help them reach their own goals. The more you use your team to reach your goals, the less likely you are to achieve them. The more you approach them in your coaching calls with what you need them to do, the more strained your relationship will become, and you will be less effective as a leader. Some network marketers reek of desperation. Please buy my stuff. Please! How about now? How about now? I’m all about being assertive. I think it’s really important. Assertive comes from a place of strength. Desperate comes from a place of fear.

There is something so beautiful of being detached from the outcome in sales. I’m sure you are thinking I’m crazy when I say this. So let’s talk about it today.

So the kingdom of God is upside down. Everything is backwards. Well, if you look closely at business, it’s backwards there too. You can even kind of replace the words.

Whoever seeks to gain a goal will lose it… so in the next few days let’s chat about how things are just so backwards. Today we will talk about reaching a goal and some of the things we do, and how approaching it the exact opposite way is what’s really needed. Tomorrow we will talk about customers. And the next day we will talk about your team.
