  • A Letter From God with Roxy Saran

“Just because things are not going your way, what makes you think God’s not there?”

It may be easy to think that God isn’t there in those times when it is not going your way, and those are the times that He may be calling you to rest in Him.

Today I have an interview with one of our community members, Roxy Saran (no relation ) and how God is working in her business.  Roxy was going for a really big goal in her network marketing business and found it challenging to get the 50 people on her team to do one thing all at the same time.

As she was facing this challenge with frustration, she reached a point where she had to lay it down to God.  Roxy talks about how she while attending a women’s retreat, she was reminded to rest in God, lean on God, and remember that, even though you are small, you will bear fruit.  She also felt God telling her to rest in Him, and He will get the glory in achieving this goal.

Soon after that things started to come together for her team, and one day she found herself praying for each person on her team and their businesses and their lives instead of asking God to bless her own.  She also prayed for opportunities that wouldn’t come around otherwise, and her phone started ringing that night from people who were suddenly ready to buy. From those prayers for her team and for new opportunities, she launched 8 new leaders in the month.

It was such a clear sign from God that He was at work and He was there.  Even though entrepreneurship can feel like a lonely place at times, it doesn’t have to be.

The last bits of encouragement Roxy has to give us:

    1. Trust the process
    2. Make sure you have the skills
    3. Make sure it’s NOT about you and it IS about your team
    4. Do what you do well and do it for God
    5. Be CONSISTENT
    6. Set your sights on what your goals are and He calls you to it, He will equip you.

Thank you for reading today’s post.  Be sure to watch the entire interview below, and then head over to our free Facebook group to continue the conversation and share with us how God is working in your business.

  • How To Work With Those Close To You Without Ruining Your Relationship

Have you ever wondered if it is “worth it” to work with your friends and family members?  Does “the messiness” that comes with navigating a business relationship actually outweigh the benefits…

Well here is the thing… ALL relationships are messy and lead to issues. And if you grow in your ability to manage these relationships they can be incredibly rewarding.  To watch this video podcast go HERE.

Let’s start by talking about WHY we would want to even consider inviting our friends and family to join us in our business:

    1. If you are standing with other women in a circle and there is a woman standing alone in your circle’s vicinity – the thing to do is notice her, smile at her, move over a bit and say, “Hi, come join us!”  Even if she decides not to join your circle – even if she looks at you like you’re crazy – inviting her is STILL THE THING TO DO. This advice is meant for both literal and figurative circles. WIDEN YOUR CIRCLE.  ALL THE TIME.” – Glennon Doyle
      1. Imagine how your close friends would feel if you had a circle and you DIDN’T invite them…
    2. Ecclesiastes 4:12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
    3. Gallup research says it’s good business
      1. women who strongly agree they have a best friend at work are more than twice as likely to be engaged (63%) compared with the women who say otherwise (29%).
      2. When employees possess a deep sense of affiliation with their team members, they are driven to take positive actions that benefit the business — actions they may not otherwise even consider if they did not have strong relationships with their coworkers.

Now you might be thinking, ok you convinced me. But how do I make sure this isn’t a landmine? Skill my friends, improve your skill.

    • Use Strengthsfinder to reinforce why you believe they will be successful. Give real evidence to encourage them instead of “but I love you.” That doesn’t quite do the trick.
    • Set clear boundaries. Have scheduled times for business. Off-hours are for personal time. If they bring up business during personal time, that’s totally ok. But if you are going to bring it up, make sure you ask permission so no one feels bombarded. Be clear on who is calling- their business partner or their friend.
    • Be authentic. This is one I have struggled with. I am more than happy to carry their burden, but not so quick to share mine thinking I might discourage them. They are your friend or loved one first. If you throw up your walls they will know, and THIS is what’s more likely to mess up the relationship. Your personal growth will help to build your resilience though, and help you with a more positive attitude as a whole. Invest in being better so you can be better for those you care about.
    • Hold them loosely. Network marketing is a season for many people. Your loved one might not make this their last career, and that’s ok! Every quarter check in to see how they are doing with their goals, how they feel about things and such. But because you love them, never let them quit on a bad day. That’s only allowed on a good day.

I really hope that this was helpful for you today :). If you would like to continue the conversation and talk about how God is working in your business, join us here at our Facebook group.

  • The Difference Between Hearing, Listening and Action with Lindsay Jensen

    Matthew 7:24-27 (ESV)

“Everyone then who hears these words of mind and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.  And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.  And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

I was able to interview one of our community members, Lindsay, and today I want to share with you some of how God is working in her business.

She shared first with me how she, like many of us start off the new year reading their Bibles.  As she was reading and came across Matthew 7, she read the story of the wise and foolish builders, one who built their house on the sand, and the other who built their house on the rock.  Lindsay noticed that both builders heard the teaching, but only one of them put the teaching into practice.

This got her to thinking about the difference between hearing and hearing and putting into practice.  I’m sure like many of us who have heard this story of the wise and foolish builders before thought of the story as one person who didn’t hear the good news and built their house on sand, and one did hear the news and built their house on the rock.

But that is not what happened.

Both builders heard the word, but only one put them into practice.  Both physically heard the sound, but only one got up and got to work.  There is another step between hearing the sound of God speaking and the action of putting it into practice.  This is the step of listening where you focus on what you are hearing, which leads to action.
Watch the video below to see (and hear) how Lindsay is hearing what she God is speaking into her life into practice.  After watching today’s interview, head over to our Facebook group to join the conversation and share how God is working in your business.

  • On Having Patience and Not Making Excuses with Rileigh Denis

“When we are praying for patience, we become so much more aware of our lack of patience.”

Today I have an interview with one of our community members, Rileigh, who continued to run her business part-time while she was in the hospital for 23 days.  Not only that, she hit a rank advancement with her company during that time.

    Awesome and ridiculous.

You’ll want to watch the entire video, which you can find below, but some of the takeaways from my time with Rileigh is that even though we can have times where we experience God coming through for us, it can be hard to remember that we can trust in Him.  Often times the thing we are praying for makes the thing we are missing so much more evident.

Although we may feel busy, there is still enough time to generate revenue and help people if we use the 10-minute pockets of time we have to message or call people instead of scrolling a through our social media feeds.

The biggest practical tip that Rileigh has for everyone is to not make excuses as to why you are not working your business.  Find little bits of time throughout your day to work your business when you can. She says that your mindset on an excuse or something going on in your life is going to determine your success.  Don’t give up and don’t make excuses. Everyone in network marketing has to do the same thing as everyone else to get customers.

The last quick tips Rileigh wanted to share with the CNM community are:

    1. Be more in tune with how you are feeling
    2. Be honest with yourself.  Don’t fool yourself into not knowing what is going on with you or your business.  That will help you be transparent with yourself, which will help you be transparent with others, which will help you communicate with others and with God.
    3. Stay positive

All of this sounds really simple, but sometimes we need to hear the simple things.  We don’t have to complicate the network marketing business. We can keep it simple.

Thank you for reading this post and being part of our community!  Be sure to watch the full interview below, and then head over to our free Facebook group to continue the conversation!

  • Try This To Get A Bigger Harvest

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.” -Robert Louis Stevenson

This idea is important for all areas of your business.  Lately, I have been focusing on 3 wins or impacts per day with my own business, my coaching team, and my clients.  These would be three things that help others or help move our business forward.

But right now I happen to be going through this time of feeling very impatient, because I am in a season of planting rather than harvesting, even though I know the planting leads to the harvest.  But then you have a big harvest, and you have to plant again.

As I have been thinking about this, the quote mentioned at the beginning came to mind, and I thought of myself, “How can I think about my day in terms of how many seeds I have planted, instead of wins or impacts?”  I am sure you can all agree that waiting for seeds to grow is really, really difficult.

Something I want you to think about is how can you, each day, plant 3 seeds and what does that mean?

Here are a couple of things that come to mind in regards to your network marketing business:

    1. Do you keep a prospect list?
This list should be clear with categories for Team Member prospects, Builder prospects, Customer prospects, Customers to follow up with, and Builders I can take to the next level, for example.

Do you have a list like this that you could easily go to so that you could plant seeds every day?
    2. Scheduling appointments
A blank calendar can create anxiety, and we want to schedule as many appointments as we can, which are seeds we are planting.  The kinds of appointments we can set are Sales, Retention or Wish List, Recruiting, and Coaching appointments.

We can eliminate a lot of this anxiety about the future by focusing on what seeds we plant today.  No matter what business we are in, every day we should be planting seeds and adding value in people’s lives.  When we do that, the harvest will come.

One last thing on patience:  there are times I try and will more patience into my life.  Patience doesn’t work that way, however. Patience is a fruit of the spirit, which means that it comes from God.  I think it is important that we pause and ask God, “God will you fill me up with patience?”

I hope you found that helpful.  Thank you for reading today’s post.
