To this point, Jesus comes along to remind each of us that we cannot share the throne of our hearts with God and materialism.

For many believers prayer has become just another thing they do on their list of religious exercises. Truth is, God never intended prayer to be a religious exercise, but instead a gateway to an intimate relationship with Him. In the selfie society we are presently living in it seems like everyone so focused on themselves that it is impossible for them to even notice the needs all around them. Here Jesus reminds us that God is very concerned about what we believe, but equally concerned about what we "Do" about what we believe.
