This was actually the very first Walt Disney Cinderella, and man was it fascinating to watch. It was also bizarrely streamlined and cohesive, given the weirdness we've come to expect from the early animations. Still there was definitely enough nightmare fuel and rabbit holes to go around in this, our Ragtime Cinderella!

Here it is, everyone, the SmashCut Cinderella. Every single cut is a smashcut. It hurt so bad. We had to take several sanity breaks during this one, and none of them restored as much sanity as we really really REALLY needed them to.

Welcome one and all to the longest episode ever! This is The Carp Cinderella (I promise you will not be confused for long). We've got everything a Grimm's Version could hope for including a few Very Important Firsts! We had a truly phenomenal time this week, we literally talked about this movie for almost 6 straight hours with each other and then immediately another 90 minutes or so each with our respective partners, and several additional hours thereafter.
I'm not sure if this one is ready to win Best In Show, but boy did it raise a BUNCH of bars for us. If you enjoyed this half as much as we did, you're in for a real treat!

This week we do OPERA y'all. OPERA. And not normal opera, no, this is french, surreal, gender-bending, quantum, fever dream Opera, and we had such a great time. Join us for Fiona Shaws 2019 production of Massenet's Cendrillon! I think the official title we landed on was the "Surreal Opera" Cinderella, but "Midsummer's Nights Dream" Cinderella or "I don't think that character really existed" Cinderella, would have been just as accurate.
