This was actually the very first Walt Disney Cinderella, and man was it fascinating to watch. It was also bizarrely streamlined and cohesive, given the weirdness we've come to expect from the early animations. Still there was definitely enough nightmare fuel and rabbit holes to go around in this, our Ragtime Cinderella!

Welcome one and all to the longest episode ever! This is The Carp Cinderella (I promise you will not be confused for long). This week we do OPERA y'all. OPERA. And not normal opera, no, this is french, surreal, gender-bending, quantum, fever dream Opera, and we had such a great time. Join us for Fiona Shaws 2019 production of Massenet's Cendrillon! I think the official title we landed on was the "Surreal Opera" Cinderella, but "Midsummer's Nights Dream" Cinderella or "I don't think that character really existed" Cinderella, would have been just as accurate.
