This week, the staff goes on location to El Chapo Tacos in Gulfport for some great food and beer, along with sports + fitness writer Resie Waechter, the restaurant's staff and special surprise guest Sam Henderson, mayor of Gulfport. We talk (with our mouths full) about local music, the inspiring number of women running for office this year, Ready Player One, float tanks, LGBTQ homelessness and much, much more. Produced by Homemade Podcasts, a subsidiary of HMBradio.com.
This week, the Creative Loafing Tampa Bay edit team takes on the March For Our Lives, and the upcoming celebration of and record release for late, lamented Tampa musician Ray "Rayzilla" Villadonga. Produced by Homemade Podcasts, a subsidiary of HMBradio.com.
This week, CL's A+E Editor Cathy Salustri talks local theater at Jobsite and American Stage, while News+Politics Editor Kate Bradshaw talks Tampa Pride and area elections.
This week, David, Scott, Cathy and Ray work with new producer Will Kuncz (of Homemade Broadcast infamy) and talk about Gasparilla Music Festival, the Gasparilla International Film Festival, their own upcoming GASP! performing arts fest, the new Grinch movie and, oddly enough, tighty whities.
There's tasty beer in this week's 'cast (and a debate over who bit whom at a company party), plus news about CL's upcoming Books Issue and Fiction Contest. But the big topic is sexual assault, tied in to our cover story, "#YouToo?." Our guest is Clara Reynolds, CEO of the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, an eloquent spokesperson for victims and a font of vital info for anyone in crisis. If you don't know what a call to "211" does, listen up.

World-renowned artist Tim Hawkinson, in town for an exhibition of his work at the University of Tampa's Scarfone-Hartley Gallery, is this week's special guest on The CLAP, along with UT prof and gallery curator Dr. Francesca Bacci, and they were so cool we forgot to talk about anything else. I mean, when you get to meet an artist who works with materials like fingernail clippings and air conditioning ducts, you just want to find out more.

DESCRIPTION: MasterChef Season 8 contestant and Tampa local Jeff Philbin stops by to talk about his experience on the show and the money raised by watch parties at Tampa's Fodder & Shine while the edit staff tastes Traveler Brewing's beer and sweats it out in anticipation of this year's Best of the Bay.
We begin with a bit of post-Irma punchiness -- meet Cathy So-Lusty! -- then talk about the approaching end of the (New) World as we know it, taste-test Chameleon cold brew, and introduce Furricane Relief, CL's campaign to raise money for animals affected by Hurricana Irma. Then we finish with dramatic readings of teasers for that new series everyone will be talking about: Surfer Doctor!

The CLAP gang gets a bit punchy pre-Labor Day Weekend, but between tangents ("Did you just lick that microphone?") and TMI (the blow job section alone), they manage to communicate some true facts about beach bars, John Moreland, Jared O'Roark and A&H kosher hot dogs from the Bronx. Enjoy!
