This week the CL crew talks local politics (St. Pete's plastic bag ban and state-level preemption), local music (Tampa's excellent DieAlps!, whose new album is out Aug. 4), local art (the provocative nature of Skyway: A Contemporary Collaboration exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts), and local beer — in fact, they taste several in preparation for next week's cover story on all the fine Tampa Bay craft beer available to go in cans and bottles.

This week, we start things off with a look at the upcoming televised debate between St. Petersburg's two highest-profile mayoral candidates, and Kate Bradshaw's accompanying Bingo card/drinking game. After Ray talks a bit about Girls Rock Camp St. Pete and their upcoming showcase concert, Suncoast Animal League co-founder Rick Chaboudy introduces Ralphie, a terribly abused pup who became a social media hero and is healing nicely with support from the entire community. (WARNING: Graphic description of animal abuse.) Meaghan and Alex wrap things up with a cookie butter taste-off.
