Psalm 119

Join us for our final week in a mini-series through the book of Psalms. Today, we conclude with Psalm 119. This Psalm forms an acrostic in accordance with the Hebrew alphabet. It is a Psalm that focuses on the good, true, right, and sustaining qualities of God's Word. As we reflect on its contents, we will explore how God uses his word to sustain and guide his people so that we might live in faithful accordance with the ways and words of Jesus today.

Job 38-42

This week we conclude our mini-series in Job. In this final encounter God will respond directly to Job. We enter Job 38-42 where God addresses the suffering of Job. In his response we will be reminded that so much is beyond our control, that God is with and attentive to our pain, and that there is a greater meaning and deeper purpose behind the suffering we endure here on earth.

Job 3-37

This week we continue in our series through the wisdom literature of the Old Testament. Currently, we are in week 2 of Job's account. Today, we explore how Job's friends responded to his suffering. What can we learn from the example of Job's friends regarding how not to attend to another's pain and suffering? How might we attend to suffering in a way that comforts, strengthens, and provides relief? Join us as we seek to grow deeply rooted and overflowing with God's wisdom so that we might live more effectively for him in this world where he has planted us. A review of Job 3-37.

Isaiah 8:1-18

Abiding joy remains available to us, are we paying attention? This week, we step into Isaiah's prophecy delivered to Ahaz, and Judah, exploring the enduring qualities of joy available to followers of Jesus still today. Joy would prove elusive to Ahaz as he recklessly determined to rely on his own schemes and efforts to save the people of Judah and Jerusalem. How can we learn from Ahaz's poor example, and grow in our awareness of the joy available to us? Where do discover our ultimate joy, present for all seasons?

Isaiah 7:10-25

In the 2nd message of our Advent series, we will reflect on Isaiah 7:10-25. How did Ahaz's lack of hope and faith lead him to depend on rival, Assyria for support against Israel and Syria? In today's message we will explore how Ahaz missed out on peace because he was relying on the voice and presence of others, rather than the voice and presence of God. We will also encounter our God, who still delivers the promise of a child, even as his people turn away from him.
