Welcome to the Sunday Leftovers Podcast
Today’s episode will cover topics from Exodus 1-6.
To begin, we will explore the various wordplays that are taking place in the names that we find early in the Exodus narrative. What did Moses’ name actually mean in Hebrew? How about in Egyptian? And what about the meaning of Miriam, Jochebed, Amram, and other names that we find in the beginning of Exodus?
Next, we will turn our attention to Exodus 4 where we will explore two topics. First, a deeper dive into the purpose behind God’s hardening of Pharaoh’s heart. Then, we will look at the unusual and curious account of God’s attempt to kill Moses.
Finally, we unpack the ancestry and heritage of Moses and Aaron, observing how the text fits them into the line of Levi as true Hebrews able to identify with the people they were working to deliver.
