The Cold Shower Podcast

Yo! We were able to get 1/2 of Lamie Wellness in the studio for a conversation regarding their new loose leaf tea company. We chat about the benefits of tea, what makes loose leaf way more legit than bagged tea, and the process of starting a new business.

Also, Lamie Wellness is a major supporter of the podcast so give them some love and attention by checking out their links below. You too could obtain some of their delightful tea!

In this episode I sit down with AJ Garcia. He works and attends the same church as I do. I have caught him leading the service a couple of times and was really impressed with his outlook and wisdom. So, we got him in studio to chat about his own journey and to also lay the groundwork for me to share more about my faith as well.

For both of us, we believe everyone has a curiosity regarding "how or why we are here." So, this episode is meant to serve as an encouragement to follow that curiosity. We feel we've found our answers through becoming a christian and want others to at least consider this same option.

Love it, like it, hate it, let us know! Links to interact are below.

In this episode I sit down with three very valued guests. You may be familiar with them from their previous appearances. Beth Milligan appeared on Episode 043 alongside her own co-host Anthony Weber. She has been one of our most requested return guests. Her ability to take the pulse of society and deep understanding of culture lends itself to deep conversation on her own show, the Etcetera Podcast as well as when she appears on here. The other half of guests are Chris and Nick Loud. They are the founders of the the Boardman Review and have found themselves playing a large role in highlighting the positive culture of Northern MI and shining a light on the creative people that call this area home.

It is for these reasons that I asked each of them to participate in a discussion using "At the Heart of Gold" documentary as our template. Nick was behind the courtroom footage that took place during the Larry Nassar case. This gave him a unique perspective as he witnessed the impact statements in person in real time while capturing very intimate moments to be used by the film. Chris then sifted through hours and hours of footage in order to organize the clips for future use.

By using this documentary as a template we were able to create a larger conversation surrounding cultures of sexual assault and the abuse that oftentimes accompanies positions of power. We ask how an event like this could have happened. Why some voices are ignored. And what we can do in our own lives to push back against cultures that breed these type of events.

In this episode I sit down with my good friend Carter Wheelock. He is an expert carpenter and also the craftsman/owner of a leather goods company caller Lumber & Hide. Carter approached me at a local event and said he enjoyed my podcast. From there we have interacted over instagram and encouraged one another in pursuing personal growth.

--

This conversations goes deep as we explain our approach and pursuit of personal growth. We share some things we have learned from our recent readings, quotes, and original ideas in how to improve but understand we are where we need to be. Much like me Carter hopes to one day be able to take his passion full time and achieve more autonomy over his schedule. His intentions are pure as he seeks to be a good husband and father to his two young boys. I have no doubt that Carter will achieve his dream and look forward to supporting him in any way that I can as I know he will do the same for me.

Im joined again by Aaron Burr from the We All Can Change Podcast. We thought it would be fun to share this episode on both of our platforms. So, after you read this, go to his Podcast page and listen there! He is also encouraging his listeners to do the same for me.

--

Aaron did a great job highlighting the work that I'm doing and asking me about my experience with the environment. I always get excited when the tables can be flipped and I can be asked the questions. It forces me to revisit why I started this podcast and the values that I'm currently living by.

--

A big thanks to Aaron and the work he is doing to protect our environment while educating new waves of people. For links to what he has going on look below.
