Alabama, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Clemson and Texas A&M are the teams currently in the discussion and the pod leads off with Doug and Shehan debating where the USC Trojans, led by quarterback Kedon Slovis, deserve to enter that club. They talk it out and then Doug, Shehan and the pod text subscribers vote USC in or out.

Then it's time (40:30) to rank those five contenders in terms of who has the best pass catchers. Is there a clear team that is at the bottom? Is there a clear team that is No. 1?

Welcome to the debut of The College Football Playoff Show. Doug Lesmerises and Shehan Jeyarajah appreciate you trying out this new national podcast all about the playoff. Each week until the start of the season, Doug and Shehan will discuss a team that deserves to be added to the playoff discussion that includes Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Oklahoma -- the teams that have taken 20 of the 28 playoff spots in the seven years of the playoff.
