On today’s episode of The College Loop, we kick things off with Auburn Football’s A-Day fallout —- and the fan reaction to Byrum Brown. Are the overreactions justified after a shaky spring showing, or is this exactly what you’d expect from a new QB still settling in? We break down the interceptions, offensive struggles, and why Auburn fans may need to pump the brakes.

Then we shift to Auburn Men’s Basketball and take a full look at the roster movement heading into next season. With key returnees like Kevin Overton, Simon Walker, and Tahaad Pettiford, plus notable departures including Filip Jovic (UCLA) and Elyjah Freeman (Texas), what does this roster actually look like? We also dive into the incoming class featuring international big Narcisse Ngoy, transfers like Owen Freeman and Bukky Oboye, and what this group could become.

On the women’s side, Auburn Women’s Basketball adds intriguing pieces in Zahara Bishop (Seton Hall) and Phoenix Stojin (Indiana). We discuss their production, potential upside, and how they could impact the rotation.

On today’s episode of The College Loop, we react to the first A-Day game under Alex Golesh and break down what stood out — both good and bad — from this new-look squad.

It wasn’t a clean debut for the offense, as inconsistency, stalled drives, and multiple interceptions from the quarterback group raised some early concerns heading into the season. We dive into what went wrong, whether it’s a matter of timing, system adjustment, or something deeper that needs to be fixed fast.

But it wasn’t all negative — the defense came to play. From creating turnovers to consistently disrupting the offense, this unit looked aggressive, opportunistic, and ahead of schedule. We discuss who stood out, what it says about the defensive identity, and whether this group can carry momentum into the fall.

Is this just typical spring growing pains… or are there real red flags? And how should fans feel after the first glimpse of the Golesh era?

All that and more on today’s episode of The College Loop.
