The Evolution of Family and Faith: "There's this shift that's happened where my parents generation, the people above me, they were raised in like a counterculture where they didn't love but were forced to go to church. Then there was a shift. They sort of rebelled against that. So they allowed my generation to not see it as a priority. So then there's been another shift where it's become a priority, but my generation is not equipped, and so they pass it on to people who are."
— Adam Sculnick [00:07:31 → 00:07:59]
The Shift in Christian Practice: "And so you see a lot of education being done by the state, so whatever school the kid goes to and religious education, especially in Christianity, being done by the church. So kids go to children's ministry and then youth ministry and then young adult ministry, and the parents go to worship. And it's like a separate thing that they just do at the same time. But what ends up happening is in the home, it looks very much like every other home. It's a secular environment. So the kids are doing their thing and the adults are doing their thing. And even when they're together, faith is not the center of it. But if you look back historically, Christianity had almost always been that the home was the center of your faith, and then it worked itself out into the church and the community."
— Adam Sculnick [00:07:59 → 00:08:42]
Engaging Men in Church Life: "As it turns out, men are the largest lacking demographic in most north american churches. Men don't come to church. Moms bring their kids. Men go fishing or watch football or sleep in because they worked all week or whatever, but it's just not a priority for men."
— Adam Sculnick [00:08:55 → 00:09:12]
Intentional Fatherhood: "So it's meant to help you get back into that old pattern of men teaching their sons to be men who can then teach their sons to be men. And then we have generations of strong men who can lead in their churches and lead in their homes, not because women can't, but because women shouldn't do it by themselves."
— Adam Sculnick [00:10:05 → 00:10:22]
Father-Son Relationships: "So, like the subtitle of the book is a tactical guide to deeper gospel centered relationships between fathers and sons."
— Adam Sculnick [00:14:03 → 00:14:09]
The Importance of Fatherhood: "If the father and husband is serving properly, then he's loving his child the way that God loved him, and he's loving his wife the way Christ loved the church."
— Adam Sculnick [00:19:40 → 00:19:49]

Pursuing a Childhood Calling: "I was actually called to be a kids pastor, and I was like ten years old. And I thought that that's what it was going to look like for me forever, that I was just going to be a kids pastor at a church."
— Corinne Noble [00:05:02 → 00:05:48]
Discovering Hidden Creativity: "I just started to discover this new creativity in myself that I didn't realize was there."
— Corinne Noble [00:06:58 → 00:07:48]
Redefining Creativity: "I thought I wasn't creative, because I really was, like, putting creativity in a box, it's crazy because creativity literally cannot be contained. It's creativity."
— Corinne Noble [00:08:16 → 00:08:27]
The Nature of Human Creativity: "I think that's because it goes back to just the fact that God is the creator, right? He's the creative creator, and he created everything out of nothing. And he created all of us in his image. So I really believe that if we're created in God's image, then if he's the creative creator, why wouldn't he make all of us to be creative as well? I mean, we're all created in his image, so he's created all of us with unique talents and giftings, and we can see creativity in each one of those things if we look for it."
— Corinne Noble [00:10:41 → 00:11:12]
Divine Inspiration and Creativity: "For me, the way that my creativity started to come out was just listening to God's call and listening to God's voice and him telling me to do things. I mean, I felt like he said, start doing this, right? And I was like, I don't know how to do this, God. I didn't know how to do it on my own. I had to rely on God, because without him, honestly, I never would have even tried to do the things that I've done in my ministry and even in my life."
— Corinne Noble [00:11:43 → 00:12:10]
Unlocking Creativity: "The first thing you have to do is stop saying that you're not creative."
— Corinne Noble [00:15:09 → 00:15:13]
Embracing Creativity: "So when we say, I'm not creative or I can't do that, that's very powerful and it is negative. So we want to change that verbiage and start saying, I'm finding my creativity."
— Corinne Noble [00:15:44 → 00:15:56]
Fostering Creativity: "Just being outside makes me feel more creative, or I like to juggle. If I juggle, honestly, because I've juggled for so long, it takes my mind off things and I get ideas."
— Corinne Noble [00:16:53 → 00:17:00]

The Impact of Preteens on Faith: "One, preteens are the best kids on the planet. So if you're listening and you're somewhere between nine and twelve, you're the coolest. Okay? So just know that I think that, and I love working with them and teaching with them because they're so hungry to hear, you know, in this age group, they are the most likely to respond to God's truth and to become followers of Jesus in this age group."
— Michael Pritchard [00:06:55 → 00:07:21]
Viral Topic: Importance of Biblical Study for Modern Life
Quote: "And that's why on the podcast, we go through scripture chapter by chapter. So we're not jumping around all over the place. ... they need to know how that applies to them in this modern world that we live."
— Michael Pritchard [00:09:54 → 00:10:02]
Viral Topic: Fostering independent Bible reading in preteens
Quote: "My win is when a preteen reads the Bible for themselves, because that's my end goal. My end goal is not that a family will be dependent upon a podcast for their kid to learn the Bible."
— Michael Pritchard [00:12:21 → 00:13:08]
Dealing with Kids' Doubts About the Bible: "That is a great question."
— Michael Pritchard [00:15:51 → 00:15:53]
Viral Topic: Encouraging Questioning and Curiosity in Preteens
Quote: "But let's find out together. And preteens will love that, and they'll see that questions are okay, because one of the worst things to tell a kid is to say, well, you just got to believe more, and then you're going to be fine."
— Michael Pritchard [00:16:24 → 00:16:39]
"Teaching Kids to Apply God's Word": "What does it mean? And then what should I do? Because if you just read the Bible, then you haven't done much. You've learned something, but you haven't truly ingested it."
— Michael Pritchard [00:18:06 → 00:18:17]
Teaching Kids to Read the Bible: "But you know what I still have to do each day is spend time in God's word. And so that as my children get older, they know that I prioritize reading the Bible because they see me doing it."
— Michael Pritchard [00:19:33 → 00:19:46]
Teaching Kids to Engage with the Bible: "What it looks like to read the Bible themselves, to wrestle with it, ask questions, and then come up with, how can we obey it this week together?"
— Michael Pritchard [00:20:46 → 00:20:56]
The Power of Childlike Faith: "And what's great is that kids inwardly believe the Bible. And if they know where Jesus says, hey, if you seek first the kingdom of God, then God is going to take care of your needs. They read that. And you know what? They inwardly believe that we adults, what do we do? We worry."
— Michael Pritchard [00:21:30 → 00:21:50]

Parenting in the Digital Age: "The goal is not perfection. The goal is not to be bound up with some idea that if we don't get it right, our kids are going to be damaged forever."
— Adam Holz [00:05:32 → 00:05:41]
#ViralMovies: "It's actually a little bit shocking to go back and watch. I mean, you can just go down the list, 16 candles, Ghostbusters, and be like, oh, my, the Goonies."
— Adam Holz [00:13:27 → 00:13:39]
Viral Topic: Rediscovering Classic Movies
Quote: "I think that we will find it has more content than you remember."
— Adam Holz [00:13:51 → 00:13:54]
The Impact of Entertainment on Worldview: "Our goal is to give parents a little bit of hope here. I hope that's not too lofty a goal, but it can feel overwhelming, and we hope that this is a tool that maybe makes you feel a little bit less overwhelmed."
— Adam Holz [00:16:56 → 00:17:11]
The Reset: "If I want to get healthier, I have to pay attention to what I eat. If I want to be financially in a more sound place, I've got to be intentional about how we're spending our money as a family, how I'm spending it. And I think that screen time, like both of those things, we can tend toward chaos."
— Adam Holz [00:18:45 → 00:19:04]
Controlling Screen Time: "If we want to get screen time under control in our family, it's got to start with us and start with our own boundaries and really setting those boundaries for ourselves because I think that gives us the credibility to try to help our kids."
— Adam Holz [00:19:26 → 00:19:39]
"Tech-Free Tuesdays": "And we have a guy that we work with, Jonathan McKee, who's written a number of things for Focus as well. And he, for a long time, did tech free Tuesdays, and his kids hated it at first, but then it became their favorite day of the week. It became something they look forward to. So it's not just about deprivation, but it's that opportunity to engage relationally."
— Adam Holz [00:21:20 → 00:21:39]
Viral Topic: Cotton Candy
Quote: "My wife has developed a strange and wonderful fixation with corgi videos. So she's constantly like, last night, she was showing me this video of a big fat corgi puppy trying to jump in a bathtub, and he couldn't make it. And it was funny."
— Adam Holz [00:24:32 → 00:24:48]
Viral Parenting Trends: "And each week we're going to take three stories that we feel like parents need to know about and very succinctly give you kind of the so what? Why does this matter for me and for my kids?"
— Adam Holz [00:29:49 → 00:29:59]

Viral Topic: Finding Inspiration in Teaching

— Alyssa Clements [00:15:21 → 00:15:36]
The Intersection of Faith and Science: "Look at creation and therefore be reminded of who God is and that he cares for you and what his character is."
— Alyssa Clements [00:17:42 → 00:17:49]
The Intersection of Science and Faith: "It's okay to have questions. It's okay to not understand how it all fits together because we trust, right at the end of the day, we're trusting that God is the one who's holding it all together."
— Alyssa Clements [00:18:31 → 00:18:42]
The Importance of Curiosity in Discovering God's Creation: "Isn't God so creative in what he's done there? The Importance of Faith in Youth Development: "It's not the church doing it by itself because that's a failing model."

Viral Topic: Stickability Factors for Young Adults in Church
Quote: "I'm looking for a church that's really going to champion these type of stickability factors. And those stickability factors would be deep Bible engagement."
— Derek Altom [00:12:50 → 00:12:59]
The Importance of Family Involvement in Church: "If you're a new family walking into a church, let's say my family walks into a church, we look like an army, the six of us coming into a church. If the six of us are walking into a brand new church, there's nothing more kind of, like, fearful sometimes than being a first time guest at a church. But if you open the doors of the church and you're greeted by, let's say, a mom or a dad and a kid welcoming people to church, come on. That immediately helps the kids who are walking in the door. But it also is instilling something in that kid who's greeting, who's serving alongside mom and dad that I have a part to play in the body of Christ. I'm not the church of tomorrow."
— Derek Altom [00:13:27 → 00:14:25]
Family Learning and Connection: "So what I'm learning as a 41 year old in my life group, so is my eight year old and so is my eleven year old and my 16 year old and my 18 year old. We're all learning the same thing."
— Derek Altom [00:18:11 → 00:18:21]
Intentional Faith Conversations in Family Ministry: "So it's not just like learning this over here and my son's learning this over here and my son's learning this over here. We're all learning the same thing and then we're having conversations about it and we're digging deeper on it and it just creates an intentional faith conversation opportunity that's kind of our bread and butter in what we do."
— Derek Altom [00:19:11 → 00:19:29]
D6 Conference Philosophy: "This is what we think is biblical and this is what you ought to be doing."
