After a recent 7th year anniversary of doing stand-up, Igor Mondae started reminiscing of all the things he's seen, experienced, understood, and learned about stand-up in that time, and compiled a "10 things I've learned doing stand-up" list, and in this episode, David Munoz is helping him go through the list one lesson at a time, to try to make sense of it together, covering the first 5 points in this part 1 episode on the topic.

In this episode, our hosts try to understand what is more prominent in their local stand-up community; support, healthy competition, or toxicity, and what is the situation in other locations and languages, while reminiscing about early days of English stand-up in Moscow, and well as examples of global community experiences they've faced.

How cool is it nowadays to be a comedian? Are comics finally real celebs, and can provoke the "rock star" effect wherever they go? Or are they still the silly, geeky, nerdy, introverted bunch, a clique of their own? Listen to what Igor and David have to say, and do they see themselves and their fellow comics as the rock stars of the 21st century.

Tn tn tnnnnn CANCEL CULTUREEE! Yes, after repeatedly avoiding this subject for months, Igor and David finally decide to tackle it, following the backlash on the latest stand-up special by Dave Chappelle "The Closer" over topics discussed and terminology used by the comedian, with some even calling for it to be removed from streaming and Chappelle canceled.

One question each comedian should keep in mind is; when to stop? When is the joke ready, done and finished? When to leave the stage if you're hosting, featuring, or headlining? And finally, when to stop performing? Check what our hosts, Igor & David think, and what examples and experiences they have to share.

To answer the question "can you hack it?", David & Igor first try to define what exactly a "hack" in stand-up is, what are the types of hacks, ponder is there right (or any) time and place for hacks, and give examples and cases of hacks they've encountered.

Episode 21 finally sets to answer the real question every comedian asked at least once: Who or what is to blame for my show bombing? Was I not funny, or was the audience just bad? Maybe the room, atmosphere, show management?

As doing small trivia quizzes was the original idea for the end of each episode, David & Igor decided to dedicate separate episodes to passing different comedy related quizzes found online.
