This week we change gears and talk about the 1988 Fantasy novel: The Crystal Shard by R.A. Salvatore, a book I first read over 30 years ago.

Did I enjoy it?

Does it hold up?

What the heck are the Forgotten Realms?

Well, you'll have to listen to find out.

The audio in which we hear a man properly pronounce the name of the dragon, Ingeloakastimizilian, comes from Chapter 21 of the audio book as read by Russell Johnson, which can be found on YouTube - https://youtu.be/rZOY3k0vCGk

Lois and Clark attend the New York World's Fair and Lois manages to get mixed up with an international jewel thief.

Can Superman save her?

I mean, would you consider it a spoiler at this point if we said "Yes"?

Anyway, that's just a bit of what you're getting today as Ed and Steeven talk about Superman at the World’s Fair, the Superman story to appear in New York World's Fair Comics #2 from the Summer of 1940.

Contractual banter includes Ed diving deeper into Superman comics and Steeven's new podcast that will appear right here on this feed.

Plus, Ed makes a startling confession!

This Episode was recorded on February 14, 2023 - Watch the live recording now on The Superman Super Show YouTube Channel

A gangster uses a new drug to ensnare others to commit crimes for him.

All that and more as Ed and Steeven talk about The Wonder Drug Racket, the fourth story to appear in Superman #5 from the Summer of 1940.

But first, before you get into all that, the fellas kick off the episode with some amazing banter in which they talk about music and their complete contempt for small talk.

Even after the Superman talk is finished, the boys aren't yet done as they wind down the episode talking about Steeven's failures as a podcaster as Ed goads him into starting a new podcast, Hither Came Conan:

Traitors have come to murder King Conan in his sleep, but something darker stalks the palace halls.

In our second episode I take a look at The Phoenix on the Sword by Robert E. Howard, as well as the two comic book adaptations from Marvel Comics and Dark Horse.

What did I think of the story?

Which comic book adaptation did I like the best?

It's all in here!

Enjoy!

Rejoice one and all for it is time once again to delve into the life of Frank "The Madman of Snap City" Einstein! In this episode I talk about Nexus Meets Madman #1.

In his nightmares, Nexus has seen visions that would wake the dead. And in his role as interplanetary executioner, he's faced down the galaxy's most vicious mass murderers and sentenced them to the most horrible of punishments. But when a renegade robot overcomes Nexus with sickly sweet sensations of cotton candy, pink flowers, and circus music, he must look for help -- and he finds it in the form of Madman!
