Jace and Rocky talk about the DC Comics books released for the week of March 28, 2022. We get the start of the Shadow War pitting the Bat Family against Deathstroke, as well as the debut of the latest series to take place in the Sean Murphy-verse. Jace chatted with Jennifer Stevens-Bawcum, sister of the late Dave Stevens. Dave was an incredibly talented and influential artist whose timeless pulp inspired style captured the imagination of many comics fans throughout the 80's and 90's. Many more fans discovered Dave's creation, the Rocketeer when it became a hit film in 1991. The current Zoop campaign honors both Dave and the Rocketeer by bring the figure to life in stunning color as a puzzle. Other items for the campaign include a limited editon print and a Rocketeer T-shirt. Join us as we discuss Dave's legacy with Jennifer and how you can join the campaign.

Jace talks with writer J.M. DeMatteis about returning to the character of Ben Reilly. The talk some Clone Saga on general and of course touch on Kraven's Last Hunt, but the majority of the conversation revolves around the themes J.M. likes to explore in terms of duality, identity & the overall complexity of the human spirit. Plenty of talk about classic literary influences on J.M.'s work also, such as Brothers Karamazov & The Tyger. Of course no chat with the long-time comic scribe would be complete without talking about the legendary Bwa-ha-ha era of the Justice League.

Blake and Jace breakdown Spawn - Blood and Salvation as we complete the story of the future Spawn Daniel Llanso. Plenty of action in this one, especially when it comes to the ultimate villain who is definitely a surprise.

Jace chats with the creative team for the upcoming horror title at Image Comics, Blood-Stained Teeth. Drawing from relevant ideas of the have's and have-not's, the world of Blood-Stained Teeth is one where vampires feed not only on the blood of society but it's wealth as well. Curse of Spawn #1-4 - Story - Alan McElroy, Pencils - Dwayne Turner, Inks - Danny Miki, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Todd Broeker & Mark Nicholas

We get a look at a possible future where demonic machines from hell have just about won their war with heaven. With just a few human survivors left, a new hellspawn arises, but he may not be on the side you think. We're feeling heavy Terminator influences here.

Curse of Spawn #15-16 - Story - Alan McElroy, Pencils - Dwayne Turner, Inks - Danny Miki, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Todd Broeker & Mark Nicholas

Jace and Blake talk about the story of Abdiel, the first angel in heaven's army. He sacrifices everything to become a fallen angel to be consigned to hell and be there waiting when a certain soul destined to be a hellspawn arrives. Things don't exactly goes as planned though and the tale turns tragic.

Jace and Jay talk about a few of the books hitting comic shops March 23, 2022. Iron Man #18 and Manic of New York #4 are favorites. Overall it's a very action packed week with so many issues that are action from cover to cover. Plus a rundown on some other titles you might want to be on the lookout for.

Spawn #66 - Story - Todd McFarlane, Pencils - Greg Capullo, Inks - Todd McFarlane & Chance Wolf, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Brian Haberlin & Dan Kemp

Spawn realizes he should have heeded Cogliostor's warning and not wasted time confronting Jason Wynn. He no longer appears human and is distraught over losing his chance to connect with Wanda. Thinking he can patch things up with Terry, he finds that he may have ruined that relationship as well, leaving the hellspawn as isolated as ever. Just when it seems things can't get worse, he also seems to be sickening and losing control of his powers.

Jace and Rocky break down the forth part of War for Earth 3 as the Titans get involved. Rick Flagg's squad got soundly defeated during the first big battle on Earth 3, so this time when they go back they are bringing the Titans along for support. Even the adult Titans don't realize just how many Titans are making the trip though.
