According to this Twitter thread by court reporter James Doleman, Wikileaks only published the unredacted files after they were already made public by another website. This was made possible by Guardian journalists who published a password to a database containing the unredacted cables, given to them by WikiLeaks for help with redacting.Sources we used for this episode:
