  • #60: You Are Not Your Emotions with Katie

In today’s episode, I am talking with Katie. If you listened to episode 55 of the podcast, you heard Lisa, Katie’s mom, and I talk about adventures. Now, I am privileged to meet and speak with Katie for the first time. Katie values relationships with her friends and family and loves to partake in deep conversations. As a psychiatrist, Katie works with patients who have severe mental health issues. She is skilled at skipping the small talk and engaging in deep conversations with people in a short amount of time. Some pivotal moments from her childhood allow Katie to compartmentalize her emotions which is helpful in her work. Katie takes action to care for mental health, as well, doing things that restore her so she can show up fully for her patients. If you want to skip the small talk, and are craving deeper conversations, I hope this episode encourages you.

  • #59: Have You Hit Rock Bottom? With Robin

This week I am in conversation with Robin, a wife and mother to teens. Robin is a speaker and educator, as well as the founder of Embrace the PATH. Robin started her business, and to grow her business she began speaking all over the country. As her business grew, Robin admits her ego did too. Eventually, she found herself more in tune with work rather than her family at home. Things looked perfect from the outside, but on the inside things were falling apart in her marriage and her relationship with her children. Robin expresses to us what it felt like to hit rock bottom and have to work on yourself starting from the ground up. The journey to health was not always linear, and she faced more challenges along the way with a difficult diagnosis. However, with therapy and a lot of learned coping mechanisms for stress - Robin is finally at peace with herself and her life. If you feel like you are at rock bottom or feel like stress is consuming you - I hope this episode encourages you.

  • #56: How Do You Rebuild Trust? With Kasee

Today I am in conversation with Kasee. Kasee is a hard working woman, who is strong and determined.  As Kasee was growing up, she unfortunately had to witness and experience abuse in her home. This trauma followed her into adulthood, as she found herself in relationships that mimicked the abuse she experienced as a child. The impact of these experiences left Kasee finding it very hard to trust. As she continues to grow, Kasee is learning that sometimes you have to be self aware and recognize when you are self-sabotaging and letting past hurts into a new relationship.  If you can relate to Kasee’s story, or know someone who does, I hope this episode brings you hope and encouragement.
