Matthew 10:16-42 - Jesus sends His disciples out with a list of what to take and what not to take. Matthew 10 is equipping the church to reach the world.

Matthew 10:1-15 - The Lord often lays a burden on His disciple's heart. However, after praying, His disciple often realizes that it isn't simply a burden but a calling to go.

Matthew 9:35-38; 4:17 - When Jesus looked at people what did He see? Victims? Villains? Or something a little more complicated that that? Jesus sees all of humanity just as we are and has deep compassion for us. The Church's mission is to take that compassion out into the world for all to see and hear.

Matthew 9:18-34 - As we read the stories about Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew it quickly becomes apparent that He has a heart for the hurting. In light of that, a crucially important question for Christ followers today is this: do we?

Matthew 9:9-17 - The way of Jesus is completely different than any of the world's "systems" designed to bring happiness or salvation. Jesus' assertion about Himself was that He was the bridegroom who had come to rescue His wayward bride and bring a feast from a funeral.

Matthew 9:1-8; Romans 8:31-32; Ephesians 2:8-9 - Life doesn't always go the way we want it to go. Not for anyone. All of us have things in our lives that grieve us, and yet because of Jesus we can have hope no matter what. Because of Jesus we can take heart, knowing that our deepest need can be met in Him.

Ephesians 4:17-24 - It isn't simply what we believe or what we love that makes us who we are. What we do matters too. Our practices have a lot to say about who we become. Put simply, the things we do do something to us. In this sermon we'll examine the relationship between what we do and who we become.

Mark 10:17-22; Luke 12:32-34; Proverbs 4:23 - All of us have "our heart set on" something. For each of us, there's something that we want more than anything else. And, whatever that "something" is, it has more influence over who we become than almost anything else.

Genesis 3:1-13 - Before we ever act we believe. Much of who we become comes from the beliefs we hold about God, ourselves, and the good life. As a result, it's crucial that we examine our beliefs and ask the right questions about them.

Deuteronomy 6:1-15 - How do we become who we become and is there anything we can do about it? What is "the good life," really? Most importantly, who does God want me to become?
