As personal trainers and strength coaches, how often do you work with a client that has perfect mobility, no history of past injuries, and no current aches or pains? I’d be willing to be that this unicorn client (as I like to call them) is VERY rare to find. The truth is, we are all human, and the majority of the clients you work with will probably have some sort of ache or pain that you need to take into account.
Join Dr. Michael Mash as he shows you exactly how to work with clients who have pain or mobility limitations.
During the webinar you will learn,
• How to strength train with people who have pain or mobility limitations
• Why everyone moves differently and how pain doesn’t always need “fixed”
• A step-by-step framework for how to modify a lift for when a client has discomfort
• How you can help clients immediately on the gym floor, and when to refer out to a healthcare professional

One of the foundational concepts in human movement is that of energy transfer. During human locomotion, the energy transfer of one step into the next is directly related to the foot ground relationship.
Join Podiatrist and Human Movement Specialist Dr Emily Splichal as she explores how our relationship with gravity directly impacts the quality and efficiency of our movement patterns. Learn how to enhance your relationship with gravity to make it your friend, not your foe.
During this webinar, you'll learn how:
1. To define ground reaction forces and their relationship to gravity
2. To discuss how the neuromuscular system loads and unloads the energy of impact
3. To discuss how to optimize damping and transferring of impact forces
4. To define common impact-related injuries and how to address them through exercise

When general population clients come to you with goals in mind, they are usually in no position to dive headfirst into specific training for their immediate goal. More often than not, they have lifestyle and stress factors that require addressing, and tidying up before they can respond well to more specialised training.
Training is a stressor on the body, and we all know that you can only train as hard as you can recover from.
Cue GPP.
GPP (General Physical Preparedness) is a term thrown around mainly in athletic development. The concept being that you lay a broad, solid foundation before fine tuning into specifics.
We like to allocate GPP phases to our Gen-Pop clients. A broad, solid foundation for them looks like:
>A good aerobic base
>Healthy Blood Pressure range
>Healthy resting heart rate
>Healthy HRV
>Structurally balanced
>Good exercise execution
>Good stress management
Once we have built a really strong base, we can safely drop the hammer and work towards their specific goals – training a lot harder and recovering a lot more effectively than if a solid foundation had not been built.
To write a GPP phase, and progress them into an SPP Phase (Specific Physical Preparedness), it is important to know and understand the role of assessment. Assessing where a client is currently, and how to progress them safely and effectively from zero to hero for long lasting results.
We will cover how to build a solid foundation in which you can then capitalise on for more specific goals and achievements.

‘You can’t judge a book by its cover,’ the saying goes. And that’s absolutely true...for books. But when it comes to people, appearances really do matter. We all make subconscious judgments about other people based on their personal grooming and clothing habits. Sometimes our snap judgments don’t align with reality. But often enough, and particularly in the professional world, they do. We naturally gravitate to people who look the part and seem confident in their role.
Ultimately, we all want the look that works for us – that complements our unique looks, projects authority, wears comfortably, but that also doesn’t get in the way or leave us scratching our head when trying to get dressed in the morning. Sounds complicated? It doesn’t have to be.
“To me, credibility is so key. If a naked man walks into a crowded room and yells ‘fire,’ what do we think? We just think he’s crazy. If a fireman says ‘everyone get out of here,’ do we question him? No. Instant authority.” - Antonio Centeno

Whether it’s at an office desk or on the gym floor, the daily grind of hourly work get’s old. Sure, some people manage to work a superhuman quantity of hours each week and come away with good money. But what about the quality of that work? Is it providing something of true, lasting value to the client?
Being a successful trainer is not about spending every possible moment in the gym and getting burned out in the process. It’s about moving each client towards their unique fitness goals, using whatever tools and strategies are most effective.
Today’s guest Eric Bach is leveraging the power of online fitness and marketing to make personal training less like a grind and more like a smartly-run business.
“Are you building a business that is going to be sustainable for you in the long term? What are the other trainers in your gym doing? Ask yourself, is that really what you want? Because if you don’t take the actions that you need now, you’re not going to have that in the future.” - Eric Bach

Thinking of starting your own gym? Trying to grow and improve your existing business? With so much competition in the marketplace, running a successful gym is not simply a matter of setting up a facility and watching the money roll in. All things being equal, what makes or breaks a small business is its ability to connect personally with customers and inspire employees.
Choosing the right strategies to get your message across is critical. Maybe that means sticking with the tried-and-true tactics. Or, it could mean getting creative and taking cues from successful businesses in other industries.
Work smart, not hard. Developing the right business plan for your gym will not only lead to success in the future, but also save you time and effort in the present.
