Heck, boys... we could have put a team on the field with our guests this week on The Corner Blitz. Parklane softball coach Daniel Simmons brought over Macy Simmons, Zoe Alford, Anna Sawyer, Halle Bennet, Phiffer Crawford, Laney Simmons and Annaleigh Simmons. The Lady Pioneers are 6-0 and playing their first tournament this weekend. They've also won three of the last five state titles. Benjiy, Bradley and Adam also talk about how Jackson Academy totally didn't recruit all of Clinton High School's football starters and they really just wanted that superior JA education, a look at the preseason college football Top 25 and how they're mostly doomed, and how America has become a bunch of sports gambling junkies.
We're live every Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at The FitLife Sports Plex in McComb. Manuel Scott is behind the lens; Andrew Nations is beneath the headphones. Benji Embry, Bradley Creel and Adam Northam talk the smack. The Corner Blitz is a product of Southwest Media Group.
We're back, baby. After a summer hiatus, The Corner Blitz is back for the 2025-2026 school year. Our first show of the season is all about the Jaguars — new head coach Paul Anderson, an offensive guru, takes over a North Pike team that has been in the dumps the last two seasons, and you can tell by talking to Jakobe Barnes, Nathan Lawrence, Tyler Morgan and Tayshaun Ross they're in the dumps no more, and are, in fact, looking for some sweet, sweet revenge. Benji Embry, Bradley Creel and Adam Northam also caught up on recent sports topics, like the NCAA not going forward with March Madness expansion (good), ESPN and the NFL getting in bed together (bad), and the NFL banning smelling salts (indifferent).

On the season finale of The Corner Blitz, we talk to some national champions. Co-Lin Lady Wolf Pack softball coach Meleah Howard is on the program, along with sophomore She Wolves Carson Hughey and Olivia Banes, and freshman Abby Burnette. They came to Fit Life toting their brand-new 2025 NJCAA Division Two Softball National Championship Trophy, the program's second national title in three years. Hollywood, Creel, Benji and Adam also talk about more coaching changes in Lincoln County, the well-oiled perfection that is the current state of the NIL system in college athletics, and Greg Sankey's title of most-loved man in college football.

This week on The Corner Blitz, we're dealing with repeat offenders. Coach Kyle White's WCCA Rams baseball team rolls into the Fit Life Sports Plex as back-to-back state champions in MAIS 2A baseball. Senior gun Jacob Sessions joins him, along with juniors Tucker Freeman, Carter Graham and Carhles Grezaffi. Hollywood Brad Woods rejoins the program after a long hiatus counting grains of sand in the Florida Panhandle to ham it up with Brad, Benji and Adam. The crew also talks about SEC baseball, takes a hard line on the Tush Push, and theorizes about the world where Jordon Hudson gets ownership in Hard Knocks.

The Corner Blitz is back after a week off, and tonight we host a handful of Tigers from Centreville Academy. Josh Wilson is the track and field coach, and between junior runners Kameron Wilson and Ethan Hall, the boys program earned four state championships at the 2025 MAIS Track and Field State Championships. Bradley Creel, Benji Embry and Adam Northam also discuss the unsolvable mathematics of the New Orleans Saints' salary cap, the rebirth of NFL running backs, and the aggressive crapification of college football.

On this week's Corner Blitz, we talk to a man ascending — Ole Brook's championship track/field coach Darien Dorsey, who was recently named the head coach of Panther football. On the show with their coach is a handful of Brookhaven student-athletes who take orders from Dorsey in both sports: Jaden Allen (SO), Philip Tobias (SO), Jeremy Bibbs (JR), Fabian Washington (JR) and Coderro McDaniel (SO). Bradley Creels returns from high in the sky, and he, Benji Embry and Adam Northam also talk about late-season high school coaching changes, recouping NIL money from dudes who never play a snap and Brett Favre's mansion being up for sale (think of all the volleyball arenas we could build there).

On this wee's Corner Blitz Podcast, we check in with one of the area's best softball teams as they get ready to launch into the playoffs. Loyd Star Lady Hornets coach John Smith brings half the lineup to the program, with sophomores Maddie Kate Britt, Abi Holcomb, Layla Burt and Kaylin Hester, and freshman Kenzie Kay Lofton. Another year, another Region 7-2A title, another No. 1 seed for the Lady Hornets. Benji Embry wanders back to work from his JUCO duties, and he and Adam Northam discuss Southwest Mississippi's MHSAA softball and baseabll playoff matchups, Nico IMALAYVALUAHO (I think) taking a big paycut and losing his job with Tennessee for trying to play hardball, and wonder how 20 million people could watch golf on TV.

Champions in the house — on this week's Corner Blitz Podcast, South Pike powerlifting/football coach Tyrone Varnado introduces his 3A state champion powerlifting teams. The Eagles and Lady Eagles dominated, with 22 lifters qualified for state, eight individual state championships and more than 22,000 pounds combined hoisted up. Blake Brewer is back over from SMCC to help Adam host the show, and they also discuss Alijah Martin being a total badass, the House v. NCAA settlement looming but not really because we're far beyond the point of being shocked, and Mel Kiper's mock draft.
