On a fine evening on The Corner Blitz, we get to know the Bears and Lady Bears of the West Lincoln tennis program: head coach Idalia Sterling, senior Alyssa Norsworthy and juniors Conner Rakes, Elizabeth Burton and Chloe Sterling. Head coach Cody Hall and assistant coach Sam Caston are on the show, with junior Dreher VanNorman and sophomores Blayne Welch and Will Walsh. We get to know the Rebs and their style of baseball, and how they're aiming for a late-April date with Riverfield and Tri-County. On this week's Corner Blitz Podcast, Benji and Adam run through the paces with the North Pike Jaguars baseball team and their fast 5-1 start to the 2025 season. We get into it with head coach Dustin Lott and a trio of play-everywhere seniors in Bo Barnes, Dominic Smith and Ty Jones. Benji and Adam also say farewell to retiring Ole Brook football coach Tucker Peavey, offer condolences to the late coach Bill "Moose" McGuire, and defend - to the death - the Tush Push. The South Pike Eagles boys basketball team is going on a business trip, to the MHSAA 3A Quarterfinals, to take on nearby Crystal Springs. Coach Reggie Chambers joins The Corner Blitz along with senior ballers Cam Magee, Jovon Leavy and Darin Pounds to talk about the team, the program and the tantalizing prospects of being one game away from The Big House. Benji and Adam also discuss the SEC and the Big 10 sucking the life out of college football, the upcoming House v. NCAA settlement and a few local coaching changes. On tonight's Corner Blitz, Bradley and Adam get to meet the Yellowjackets — first-year Enterprise basketball coach Blaine Roberts, along with senior Jackets Natalie Williams, Kailee Nuckles, Tre Vining and Landon McNickles. These are four athletes who make EVERYTHING go at Enterprise: football, basketball, baseball, softball, tennis, golf, even girls' powerlifting. Both teams are playing for a region title in basketball this week. Bradley and Adam also discuss the MHSAA's gross negligence in allowing parochial schools to dominate public schools in Class I soccer, the death of college football spring games due to big-money poachers checking out the stuff, and how college football players gifted Lambhorgini's probably don't really need a tax break before we all get one first. On the last Wednesday night in January, The Corner Blitz crew talks to the 18-4 Parklane Lady Pioneers basketball team, who have already secured the No. 1 seed in their district and host the MAIS 5A South State Tournament next week. Head coach Vicki Rutland joins us, with assistant coach Tammy Gillihan and Lady Pioneers Sydney Brewer (SR), Zoe Alford (JR) and Carlyle Carruth (FR). Brad and Adam also give a wink and a nod to the NFL's marketing genius through girls' flag football, speculate on the NFL's officiating genius with regard to Kansas City miracles, and bemoan the New Orleans Saints' lack of genius when it comes to the salary cap. On this week's Corner Blitz, we hang out with the turnaround Jaguars from North Pike and talk to the girls and boys programs: head coaches Ron Kessler and Terrell Anderson, along with Jags Q Thompson and Devin Smith, and Lady Jags DeAsia Hudson and Kadence Thompson. Benjie, Brad and Adam also whine and complain about college football no longer being palatable to fussy, old men.

Due to a (somewhat) historic winter storm, and the fact Mississippians cannot be expected to survive when snow is within a 50-mile radius, the internet connection all over McComb was B-A-D all week long, and our show had several drops. Nothing we could do about it (sad face).
