The Corner Blitz returns to the air after a hiatus for Christmas, and New Year's, and Adam's vacation... with Bogue Chitto basketball coach Marc Howard and the Bobcats' sibling starters — Noah and Neeli Magee, and Devonta and Destinee Thompson. The Bogue Chittians tell us all about fast-break basketball, camaraderie, communication, and the roadmap to the Big House. Benji Embry, Bradley Creel and Adam Northam also talk about the SEC being stuck in a rut, how boring the College Football Playoff has been, the terrible-awful QB draft, and how we have absolutely must have new SMCC defensive coach Terrance Cody on the show. Manuel Scott takes the photos. Andrew Nations makes us sound good. The Corner Blitz is a product of Southwest Media Group.
On the final show of 2024, we're joined by Southwest Mississippi Community College women's basketball coach Brent Harris, who has his Lady Bears at 10-1 at the break and recently coached his 200th career victory. He breaks down the first half of the season, talks about what it takes to keep a program competing at the 20-win level and dives deep (actually not too deep) into the coach's collection of suits. Bradley and Adam also pick winners and losers in the College Football Playoff, tacitly forgive Michael Vick, whole-heartedly endorse Marshall's withdrawal from the Independence Bowl and, once again, come up with easy ways to fix the transfer portal. Manuel Scott has a camera. Andrew Nations has ears. The Corner Blitz is a product of Southwest Media Group.
After 21 years as head coach of the Co-lin Wolfpack football team, Glenn Davis will turn in the keys to the fieldhouse on Dec. 31. We catch up with the local legend and ask him about the timing of his retirement, his plans of watching the sunset, and we soak up some of his wisdom about the future of JUCO football and the sport's place in the pecking order with major college football. Benji, Brad and Adam also talk about local all-state football players, Bill Belichick's newfound youthfulness and how Alabama doesn't deserve to be in the College Football Playoff but, as Clint Eastwood said, "deserve's got nothing to do with it." Manuel Scott takes photos; Andrew Nations is the master of sound. The Corner Blitz is a production of Southwest Media Group.
We love having state champions on The Corner Blitz, and this time it's the MAIS 5A state football champs - the Parklane Pioneers, who beat Leake Academy 70-42 back on Nov. 22 to claim the trophy for the first time since 1994. Head coach Ron Rushing hangs out with us all the time on K106, and tonight we got to talk to OL coach Grayson Hewitt and Pioneers Eli Davis, Hayden McCurley and Braxton Hughes. Benji, Brad and Adam also discuss former Lawrence County stud Ahmad Hardy and the paycheck he is about to receive, the retirement of Co-Lin's Glenn Davis, the College Football Playoff Committee's latest rankings and how, when it comes to the postseason (to quote Clint Eastwood), "deserve's got nothing to do with it." Manuel Scott makes movies. Andrew Nations makes sound. The Corner Blitz is a product of Southwest Media Group.

Head coach Karshae Peterson talks about winning one more game than last year's 21-9 team: the final game. He's joined by sophomores Timothy Green (the shooter) and Fred Wells (the muscle). Maybe Raymond's time is done? Quesiton mark? Benji, Adam and guest host Danny Smith also discuss college volleyball cancellations out west (or do not discuss), running out with the other team for a nominal fee, the death of the Polish Defense (good riddance), how gatekeeping SEC fanhood would result in zero fans, and how the Georgia Bulldogs football program is basically Grand Theft Auto: Athens. The Corner Blitz is live from Fit Life every Wednesday at 6 p.m. on K106, B92.1 and WAZA 107.7 across Southwest Mississippi.
