The Corner Flag

Oooh what a treat we have for you this week! Amogh, Mukesh and Aakarsh met Patrick Owomoyela, ex-player and current ambassador for Borussia Dortmund! Also joining us on the episode was Benedikt Scholz, Head of International/Commercial and New Business, Borussia Dortmund!

What followed was one hour of conversation about transitioning from right back to defensive midfield, Jurgen Klopp's hugs, locker room music, the Indian market for football, BVB's partnership with Hyderabad FC and the 50+1 rule in German football!

This episode has a lot of insights into Borussia Dortmund and how the Bundesliga works.

A big thank you to Maike Vollmer, Sanket Bhatt and Akash Sharma for setting this up.

We hope you enjoy listening to this one as much as we enjoyed recording it!

United made yet another comeback to baffle David Moyes' West Ham and win 1-3, and Mourinho made North London WHITE! What is happening with Arteta's process and Arsenal's progress?

Chelsea look scary and Everton are firmly back to their old ways.

Plus, a huge moment for India and Indian football as Bala devi became the FIRST INDIAN WOMAN FOOTBALLER TO SCORE IN A EUROPE! She scored the 9th and final goal in a 9-0 gubbing of Motherwell. Hear, hear Bala Devi!

It's the hangover episode! We're back to regular programming, much like Everton who couldn't break down a resilient Leeds! Man United staged a Ferguson-esque comeback to win 3-2 at Southampton, and injuries and penalties made Jurgen Klopp very very angry.

We also pay tribute to one of the greatest footballers ever, Diego Maradona, who passed away recently. Our thoughts are also with Raul Jimenez who suffered a fractured skull in Wolves' 1-2 victory over relegation candidates Arsenal.

We've made it to 100! And to celebrate this milestone, we got full time club owner, part time podcaster and a very fine actor ABHISHEK BACHCHAN!

The boys chat with Abhishek about all things Chelsea: Abhishek's most cherished piece of memorabilia, the beginning of his love affair with the club, and the spelling of Azpilicueta. There's banter, insights about owning a club in the ISL and a hilarious anecdote about Marco Materazzi!

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to ALL of you listeners for listening in every week, and pushing us to keep doing this week in and week out. Thank you to Abhishek Bachchan for taking out the time and being a STELLAR guest!

Prashant and Amogh bailed out on Episode 99 of the podcast, leaving Aakarsh and Mukesh to their own devices. We have no idea what they have spoken about, if they have recorded it correctly, if they have followed our structure. The Corner Flag takes NO RESPONSIBILITY for ANYTHING the presenters have said in this episode. Amogh and Prashant. Please come back soon. We can’t be left to these two idiots!

We promised it and we delivered! Edinson Cavani scored his first goal for United in a 1-3 victory over Everton and the Toffees now find themselves slipping down the table.  Solskjaer was angry about the scheduling and Klopp and Guardiola backed him...but it was so funny to watch!

Plus we talk about Arteta's plan, and have a brand new Aakarsh's game!

It was misery for Man Utd fans as Utd crumbled to a 0-1 defeat at home to Arsenal, with the Thomas Partey party in full swing! Everton and Aston Villa suffered losses, so the title is now up for grabs again! Plus, this wee in the absence of Mukesh and Aakarsh, we've got Nishtha Kanal, ex-journalist with Sportskeeda and Karn Rateria, a founding member of MUSCM - The Official Manchester United Supporters Group of Mumbai.

Basically, lots of therapy for United fans in this episode!

We did our first live stream! It was a lot of fun, we learnt a lot and we thank everyone who tuned in. But now it's time for regular programming as the boys discuss all the other AMAZING games in the premier League! Man United grafted till the very end to come out 1-4 winners against Newcastle, with Harry Maguire answering his haters. Chelsea lost 2 points to Southampton in the last minute, so will questions be asked of Frank Lampard? And of course - Spurs bottling a 3-0 first half score to go 3-3 against West Ham!

We also talked about tatti quite a bit. Ew.

It was a weekend without the Premier League as we went into an international break, where Marcus Rashford, MBE (!!) was instrumental (with a penalty) in defeating Belgium! But that's not the big one. The boys discuss what Project 'Big Picture' is all about, if it makes sense, if it'll go through and who stands to prosper! Plus, we make some political jokes.
