The Corner Flag

Happy Diwali everyone, we're back!

And what a weekend to come back to. We saw an 8 goal thriller at Stamford Bridge. We saw United scrape through a victory against Luton. We saw a fantastic goal from Pablo Sarabia late on when Wolves got two stoppage time goals to beat Spurs. We saw an Everton comeback. But most importantly, we saw Aaron Ramsdale making a complete fool of himself!

Aakarsh and Amogh discuss all the action from Gameweek 12!

The Manchester derby ended in a comfortable 0-3 victory for Pep's Blues, but questions are now beginning to be asked about TenHag and his control over the dressing room. Is he losing the faith of the players? The body language of the top players at United seemed to suggest so.

Meanwhile, Chelsea suffered a shock defeat to Brentford even after dominating most of the game, and Arsenal put 5 past Sheffield. Even the commentators got on the act and thre shade at the blades...and at Kai Havertz.

Plus, SPURS ARE TOP?! Ange's men are rocking it this season. You'd think Harry Kane is kicking himself, but old Kane-o is getting hat trick after hat trick in the Bundesliga, with Bayern scoring 8 goals in one half!

We also bring back the GAME! Mukesh hosts a weekly quiz for us, as Aakarsh, I and sometimes Prash go head to head, showing off our football knowledge.

Chelsea squandered a 2-0 lead to share the spoils with rivals Arsenal, with the game ending 2-2. It's almost as if both the keepers decided they were going to out embarrass each other! Was it the rain? Was it the coaching? Or was it the fact that both Raya and Sanchez are mediocre keepers that have been overhyped by their respective fanbases? Only time will tell.

The boys also discus Manchester United's victory over Sheffield United during an emotional period at the club, with the passing of club legend Sir Bobby Charlton. Elsewhere, Villa rocked to a 4-1 win over West Ham, and Newcastle won 4-0 over Palace, with a lot of love and support being given to Sandro Tonali. But does he deserve it?!

If there ever was a perfect homecoming for Mumbai City FC, this was it! First home game of the ISL season, and Mumbai beat arch rivals Kerala Blasters 2-1 in a heated game which saw red cards brandished for Milos Drincic and Yoell Van Nieff. Why are KBFC so unlikeable?!

In the Premier League, Man United won in Fergie time thanks to a McTominay brace, Chelsea scored FOUR GOALS! and Everton won at Goodison while keeping a clean sheet. Oh, and then there's the small matter of Arsenal beating City, making it two back to back defeats for Pep!

We also discuss Olivier Giroud's heroics in goal for AC Milan vs Genoa, and what the Rossoneri are doing to commemorate him!

BIG NEWS!

Amogh was at the Mumbai Football Arena for the Mumbai City FC vs Kerala Blasters game, and we've put together our first MATCHDAY VLOG! It'll be out on our YouTube channel soon, so please head over to the channel and hit the subscribe button so you never miss an update!

What a gameweek eh? It's crazy when fans of all other Premier League clubs actually agree with Liverpool? The Scousers were absolutely robbed against Spurs, as Postecoglu's men got a late 2-1 victory. What's going wrong with VAR? Are there really toddlers sitting in the VAR rooms?

We also speak about Arsenal's 4-0 win over Bournemouth int he Kai Havertz charity match, Luton's first 3 points in the PL against Everton and United's dismal loss against Palace and their subsequent Europa Conference League ambitions.

Also, a hilarious story from Ligue 1 where a mascot from Rennes tackled his Nantes counterpart! You can check the video here: https://www.goal.com/en-in/news/watch-nantes-mascot-stretchered-off-rugby-tackled-rennes-counterpart-ligue-1/blt92e48616db5f4464

A Gameweek that saw a BUNCH of goals, but still, surprisingly, it was the goalkeepers who had a good show!

Mikel Arteta kept his faith in David Raya for the North London derby, thus cementing Aaron Ramsdale's position as backup keeper. Ramsdale's dad had some interesting things to say to Jamie Carragher about it though...

A 2-2 draw definitely is a better result for Postecoglu's Spurs than it is for the Gunners, and we can see how they're now a team that don't know what their ceiling is anymore, which is dangerous for their opponents.

Meanwhile, United managed to get a hard fought victory over Burnley, Everton got their first 3 points of the season and Chelsea continue to fail to score! \

And not to forget, the Indian Super League is back! Amogh and Aakarsh also round up Mumbai City FC's opener against North East United!

It's not a good week to be a Man United fan. 11 strangers took to the pitch at Old Trafford and were soundly beaten by the mighty Seagulls. And they have Bayern Munich up next. Yikes.

Amogh and Mukesh discuss everything that's wrong with Manchester United, Liverpool and City's comebacks, James Ward-Prowse's prowess (prowse-ess?) and Harry Maguire's 'unfair' criticism.

Yes, we are! If Jude Bellingham can win the Golden Boy Award because he didn't say anything bad about Taylor Swift, and if Kaoru Mitoma can hope to win the August Player of the Month and Goal of the Month award because Brighton say he's a Swiftie...then so are we! Swifties! Subscribe to us!

Amogh and Aakarsh get down to discussing the mess that is Man United, with the Antony allegations and Sancho's spat with Ten Hag taking centre stage. We also speak about Germany's issues and the sacking of Hansi Flick and Harry Kane's comments about Spurs!

We also played INITIAL SHOOTOUT! It's a super addictive game for football nerds. Thanks Joe! You can check out the game at www.initialshootout.com!
