While this great miracle did nothing to further the gospel of the kingdom in the souls of material-minded and halfhearted believers, it did serve the purpose of bringing to a head the miracle-seeking and king-craving proclivities of Jesus' immediate family of apostles and close disciples. This week on the Cosmic Citizen we continue our exploration of the God within and the Urantia Paper we started two weeks ago, Paper 111.  The ideas to be covered: The soul is neither the human mind nor the divine spirit that dwells within the mind. Material mind is the arena in which we live, make decisions, choose or forsake God, and survive or destroy ourselves. Material evolution provides us with a body and the Father endows us with spirit reality, but it is by mind that we live or die. The mortal mind is merely a temporary system lent to us for use during our material lives. Our evolving souls will faithfully portray the decisions made with the minds we have been given.. An Adjuster's work is spiritual, but is accomplished in the intellectual realm. The mind is the ship, the Adjuster is the pilot, and human will is the captain. With mortal consent, the faithful pilot will safely carry his captain across the barriers of time and the handicaps of space to the source of divine mind, even to the Paradise Father. The mortal career is an education. It is not so much what we comprehend, as what we desire to comprehend that insures our survival. It is not what our minds are like, as what our minds are striving to be like that constitutes spirit identification. What we are today is not as important as what we are becoming. Doing the will of God is the willingness to share the inner life with God. Peace in this life, survival in death, perfection in the next life, and service in eternity are all achieved when the human will chooses to become subject to the Father's will. Uncertainty with security is the essence of the Paradise adventure. God lives in us and trusts himself to us, and we live in him and learn to trust ourselves to him. We may not be certain of the details of the coming events of our lives, but we are always secure in the infinite love and compassion of our Father. We hope you can join us!

This week on the Cosmic Citizen we will explore Christianity21, a yearly conference that explores Christianity in the 21st Century. Birthed in 2009, Christianity21 invited attenders to Minneapolis, MN to imagine a 21st century Christianity. It featured 21 speakers who delivered 21 big ideas in 21 minutes each. The conference has continued; being held in Denver in 2014 and most recently in Phoenix at the end of January 2015. We broadcast our live from the 2014 show and featured many of the speakers and leaders of the Emergent Christian movement. The quest for miracles is a harking back to the primitive religions of magic. True religion has nothing to do with alleged miracles, and never does revealed religion point to miracles as proof of authority. Religion is ever and always rooted and grounded in personal experience. And your highest religion, the life of Jesus, was just such a personal experience: man, mortal man, seeking God and finding him to the fullness during one short life in the flesh, while in the same human experience there appeared God seeking man and finding him to the full satisfaction of the perfect soul of infinite supremacy. The MIRACLES  of Jesus  From 3 perspectives * The Biblical world viiew * The Academic/Scholastic * The Urantia Book The Mediterranean Roman Empire, the Parthian kingdom, and the adjacent peoples of Jesus' time all held crude and primitive ideas regarding the geography of the world, astronomy, health, and disease; and naturally they were amazed by the new and startling pronouncements of the carpenter of Nazareth. The ideas of spirit possession, good and bad, applied not merely to human beings, but every rock and tree was viewed by many as being spirit possessed. This was an enchanted age, and everybody believed in miracles as commonplace occurrences.

This week we will return again to our study of Paper 108 from The Urantia Book: Mission And Ministry Of Thought Adjusters. Jesus often said, "The Kingdom of Heaven is within you." He also once said, "The world is filled with hungry souls who famish in the very presence of the bread of life; men die searching for the very God who lives within them. Men seek for the treasures of the kingdom with yearning hearts and weary feet when they are all within the immediate grasp of living faith." The Urantia Book teaches that a fragment of God indwells each human being. It refers to this fragment of perfection as the Mystery Monitor and most often the Thought Adjuster. Paper 108 of The Urantia Book gives a wonderful account this miraculous ministry. It is not fully understood how a fragment of the Infinite Creator can live and work within the finite human mind. They appear to come and go independently of other spiritual presences, yet they function in perfect coordination with all spirit ministries, including adjutant mind-spirits, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus' Spirit of Truth. Thought Adjusters are chiefly concerned with a mortal's future spiritual life. They are not interested in making life easier; a reasonably difficult life creates many decision-making opportunities, and growth is stimulated by daily choices and decisions. It is the business of Thought Adjusters to ensure human survival and to prepare humans for the eternal adventure. Adjusters truly become "the kingdom of Heaven" within us; they are wellsprings of spiritual attainment and the hope of achieving perfection and divine character. Because they exist within our minds, they often have to endure our sordid thoughts, selfishness, or irreverence for that which is beautiful and good. Fear, jealousy, doubt and anxiety hamper their work. Join us as we pick up where we left off two weeks ago to explore this vital concept together.
