It should be a week of glowing positively on the show. Wayne is reviewing a Batman-adjacent film and Paul is reviewing a long-awaited horror film from one of his favourite Stephen King novels of all time. But, regardless of expectations, are either of the lads happy?

Countdown #491
TEN.
It's barely the spooky season and Wayne is suffering in his jocks (again!) for your amusement, this time by doing the horror-adjacent topic of the Top 10 Stephen King Adaptations.
Of course, another fantastic podcast was required to make up for Wayne's many, many shortcomings, and this time that role is filled by John and Lloyd from the fantastic The Pint: A Pop Culture podcast.
Lloyd is an old-school King fan (he has the tattoo to prove it), so how will he fare dealing with Wayne's lack of "Kingliness"? Or is there a bigger shock in store for he and John? Could it be Paul who will make the left-field calls?
There's only one way to find out, and it isn't by boofing spiders ... as The Countdown continues ...
Please thanks Lloyd and John by checking out their awesome show ASAP!

The only way Wayne could have been any more ready for this George Clooney and Brad Pitt starring action crime comedy on Apple TV would have been if Henry Cavill and Tom Cruise were also both involved!
So how did Wayne take this Jon Watts written and directed film? Was he completely in love with its cool factor? Or did this one promise too much and deliver too little? And could it be that Paul is actually more down with Wolfs, despite his man-crush for anyone involved being considerably less intense than Wayne's?
Learn the answers to all these questions and more as The Countdown continues...

Countdown #490
The Countdown marks the beginning of the "spooky season" by convincing Wayne he could do such an episode if it was about the WORST horror films. Namely, the Worst 10 Horror Films of All Time!
But for such a massive topic, the boys needed some help. And it came in the form of the magnificent So Wizard Podcast! Joey returns and this time, instead of Markellus, he brought with him another horror hating podcaster, Aubrey!
What films will Wayne and Aubrey go to town on and will the horror fans (aka Paul and Joey) be able to take it? Just how many rants will Paul go on? And can Wayne actually talk about horror films without crapping on the whole genre?

And please thanks our guests by checking out So Wizard wherever you can find great podcasts!
Two shorter reviews this week with Wayne checking out HBO Max's, The Penguin, the sequel to the hit film from two years ago, while Paul jumps on the English language remake of Speak No Evil, comparing and contrasting the original with this James Watkins' joint.
Are both lads satisfied as they get to play in their preferred genres this week, or art there surprises in store?

Countdown #489
With the end rapidly approaching, the boys shake it up with just one week this week - Wayne's list of the top 10 times Paul scored a film incorrectly, according to his Letterboxd ratings.
As a result, Paul puts himself out there for all the ridicule, abuse and judgment one can imagine - all for yours (and Wayne's) amusement!
Join the pile on amid much laughter, as The Countdown continues ...
Brace yourselves, dear listener. This one may be a bit of a rough ride ...
The boys took in the long-awaited sequel to Tim Burton's beloved 1988 Beetlejuice and, well, they have thoughts. Wayne, especially has thoughts about Monica Bellucci shacking up with Tim Burton, but at the end of the day whose score is more likely to cause anger and outrage?

Countdown #488
There have been some very funny songs released over the years, leading the lads to wonder what the very funniest of them have been. And with that, a Countdown topic was born.
So join Paul and Wayne as they attempt to cherry pick the best thirty seconds from some of the greatest comedy songs ever. Be it Conchords flying to a lonely island by way of a weird Willis, there's a little something for everyone amid the usual curse words and questionable calls.
Find out what gets crowned as the funniest song of all time by the lads and the listeners, as The Countdown continues (for 12 more episodes anyway ) ....
It's September and while prestige TV may still be dropping things of interest, the blockbuster season at the theatre is certainly over, as evidenced by Paul scraping the bottom of the cinematic release barrel to review Afraid for you. It's Blumhouse and horror (supposedly) so Wayne was going nowhere near it - which turns out to be a very smart decision - instead opting to focus his attention on the beginning of the second season of Prime's The Rings of Power (a less smart call).
Should you be heading to the cinemas or settling into the couch to watch TV this week? Hell, maybe getting out and going for a walk while listening to this episode is your best bet ... as The Countdown continues ...
