Our dear friend and coworker Anna shares openly about how God changed her plans and dreams and called her to overseas mission work. You'll be encouraged to hear Anna share how God called her and continues to sustain that calling through her abiding relationship with Jesus, her faith family, and her ongoing obedience. Anna also shares some helpful tips for those considering a missionary calling, and bonus tips for how teams can serve singles well!
Many times believers will say, "All Christians are missionaries," probably in an effort to encourage believers to preach the gospel to the lost. While all believers are evangelists and disciple-makers, all believers are not missionaries. The Bible teaches that some believers are set apart by God to be sent out to take the gospel to the unreached (aka missionaries).
In this episode, we look at 3 passages in the New Testament that refer to the missionary calling: Acts 13:1-3, Romans 1:1-15, and Galatians 1:15-17.
Read Acts 13:1-3:
Read Rom. 1:1-15:
Read Gal. 1:15-17:
From this study, four foundational truths about the missionary calling emerge:
1. The missionary calling comes from an encounter with God and His heart for the nations.
2. The missionary calling comes through faithful engagement in God’s work where we are.
3. The missionary calling produces a godly ambition to be a part of God’s mission among the nations.
4. The missionary calling includes affirmation by God’s people.

In episode 8, we shared a Bible study on the leadership of the Lord Jesus and the Apostle Paul. We found 4 "essentials" of leadership: Exemplify, Equip, Encourage, Entrust.
In this episode, we talk with Nathan and Kari about what it looks like to apply these biblical principles to real life leadership. Nathan and Kari have been serving in South Asia for 15+ years, leading in several different contexts and roles. Listen in as they share insightful principles they have learned over the years, not only for missions, but also for family and parenting.
As we study how the Lord Jesus and the Apostle Paul related with their leaders, 4 essential tasks emerge: Exemplify, Equip, Encourage, Entrust. These form the backbone of our missionary leadership today.
In this episode, we introduce a Bible study tool we have been using on the field that looks at passages when the Lord Jesus and the Apostle Paul are interacting with their disciples and leaders. As a teaser, Shanee walked through Luke 8-10 and Jesse walked through Acts 20: 17-35. We hope you'll download a free copy of this study and learn from the Scriptures for yourself.

Glenn and Rhonda referred to the "Ek Rasta" discipleship program they've been using for years in South Asia. This tool has been proven and used in amazing ways by God to get God's Word in the hands of everyday, and often less-educated, believers. Be sure to check out these amazing resources! You could use the chronological Bible stories for your own family or to disciple others in any context.
