We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS This week marked the 48-year anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The first black president Bill Clinton marked the occasion by admonishing Black Lives Matter protesters who rebuked the Clintons for their signature political accomplishments that incarcerated record numbers of black bodies. A day later, President Clinton calmed himself and expressed remorse for the conflict. Miles away at the University of Texas Austin, a black male, Meechaiel Criner, was arrested and charged with the death of a 17-year-old White female student. The alleged perpetrator indicated that he was racially abused "almost my whole life" - which greatly compromised his mental health and world view. In North Carolina students on the campus of Duke University occupied the administrative offices for a week before exiting Friday. They rallied to oppose the alleged Racist acts of executive vice president Tallman Trask, who's accused of racially targeting a black parking attendant. The spirit of Dr. King also flourishes north of the border, as Toronto have protested in front of the downtown police headquarters in response to ongoing police terrorism against black Canadians.
