The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the 14th study session on Michael Meiers' Was Jonestown a CIA Medical Experiment. This infamous mass murder has countless parallels to our recent literary selections - Columbine, Michael Swango, and The Hart murder-suicide. The Rev. Jim Jones, a White man born in a Racially Restricted Region of Indiana, took a thousand people from California to Guyana, South America. On November 18th, 1978, Jones killed nearly 1,000 of his mostly black followers and orchestrated the assassination of Congressman Leo Ryan. Some were shot, but most were poisoned with cyanide, just like "Double-0 Swango." For nearly half a century, this event has been conventionally understood as a bunch of brainwashed black loons following a White charlatan to their demise in the jungle. Meiers' work suggests something far more nefarious. Last week, listened to the report "death tape" where "father" encouraged hundreds of black people and black babies to "die with dignity." Meiers emphasizes that the original body county from this massacre was a just over 400. He submits that a more credible theory than what we've been told - an additional 500 corpses were obscured by the 400 bodies on top, is that survivors were located and executed over the days after Nov 19th. Meiers also questions if White Peoples Temple members were able to escape the carnage. Meiers also questions to the avalanche of books that commenced being published before all the bodies had been counted in Guyana. Almost all of these books are written by White authors, are rife with lies, and insist on branding this event a "suicide" - which nullifies one's ability to logically, accurately grasp the history and demise of The Peoples Temple.

Professor Marc Arsell Robinson, author of Washington State Rising: Black Power on Campus in the Pacific Northwest, was the featured speaker at Seattle's Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI). The University of Washington's Simpson Center for the Humanities sponsored and promoted the event under the title: "Black Power and Solidarity on Campus and Beyond, the Denny Lecture." Most of the people in attendance were classified as White. Professor Robinson, black male, provided a wealth of constructive information on the counter-racist efforts of Seattle's black college students in the late 1960's. He made sure to include the COINTELPRO snooping that the FBI conducted on the UW's Black Student Union as soon as the group came into existence - which was in 1968. Robinson emphasized that the founding BSU members reached out to and stressed the importance of non-black, non-white students. Gus asked and received no information about non-white, non-black students making a similar effort to reach out to black students. We were also forced to endure a White Woman's query about the alleged sexism of the black males who founded the BSU. Gus T. finally caught his breath after attending the 50th annual Seattle International Film Festival. Gus has lived in the Seattle region for well over a decade and is embarrassed to say this is the first time I've attended the event in any capacity. Making up for lost time, Gus T. applied for and received journalist credentials for the event and set about some serious TV-watching. There were over 260 films on display for the 2 week festival, and Gus was excited to check out a variety of flicks from around the globe. After a grueling stretch of popcorn munching and note-taking in darkened theaters, Gus is ready to discuss his #SIFFTY experience, the 17 films he caught during the event, and the fascinating chats with filmmakers from around the world. Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat was the best of many amazing films. Luther: Never Too Much and The Battle for Laikipia were also extraordinary documentaries that reveal much about the System of White Supremacy.

For those not watching television, non-white people in the Congo announced a failed coup attempt that allegedly involved US citizens - some of them classified as White. This stunned Gus as the best film of the #SIFF2024 was Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat - which examines how Whites around the world conspired to assassinate Prime Minister Patrice Lumumba and lied about having done so. In fact, this stunning documentary includes a current critique of billion dollar conglomerate Apple's mining operations in the very same Congo. In the midst of the failed coup lawyers announced they have further evidence of Apple's corrupt practices extracting the mineral wealth of Africa - which is what Whites have done on the continent for centuries.

Gus T. Renegade nearly lost his pecan-sized negro brain when he saw NPR did an entire segment on black male caregivers and their experience in the workplace. It was particularly important that black males are often in worse physical health than their black female and non-black health counter-parts. We also discuss debates regarding the allowance of cigarette smoking in New Jersey casinos. We're on a planet inundated with carcinogens. Non-white people should be especially leery of any jobs that require you spend time in places that allow cigarette smoking indoors. Also, a privileged black male dialed into discuss his career as an underwater welder. Besides reports of his White colleagues being allowed to wreck machinery, cause thousands of dollars in damage, and swap penile graffiti, the job pays well and is not promoted to black people. The University of Washington hosts Linh Thủy Nguyễn, non-white female, to discuss her brand new book, Displacing Kinship: The Intimacies of Intergenerational Trauma in Vietnamese American Cultural Production. Gus T. caught a flier for this event, but was more intrigued after investigating Professor Nguyễn's earlier report: “Loving Couples and Families:” Assimilation as Honorary Whiteness and the Making of the Vietnamese Refugee Family. In this 2021 exploration, Nguyễn acknowledges how non-white people born in Vietnam and non-white people classified as Asian at large are positioned in opposition to and apart from non-white people classified as black. Gus felt this was important to acknowledge since there's a frequent assumption that all non-white people are working together to solve The Problem. This point became more salient when Gus attended the event and observed Professor Nguyễn's partner, who appears to be a White Man.🐮🔔 Gus won a brand new copy of Displacing Kinship and got a detailed signature from Professor Nguyễn. However, Gus T. does not believe Dr. Eddie Moore Jr., Professor Linh Thủy Nguyễn or any other non-white person who's engaged in sexual activity with a White person is serious about Replacing White Supremacy With Justice. #ANTIBLACKNESS The family of 19-year-old Sade Robinson was told that authorities located an arm in Illinois that's believed to that of Ms. Robinson. She's believed to have been murdered in Wisconsin, and her White killer is suspected of dumping her remains throughout the state and beyond. White across the Atlantic Ocean announced that they have decoded the mystery of how the Egyptian pyramids were constructed. We'll have to see if this is true. Gus T. Renegade made time to host this week's broadcast in spite of being a credentialed member of the press for the 50th annual Seattle International Film Festival. Gus has been in Seattle for well over a decade, and never made an effort to visit the festival. Thankfully, Gus filled out the application for a "press pass" months ago.
