I had the pleasure of chatting with Megs Crawford, who is an expert in organizing for those with ADHD. Meg opened up about her own journey with ADHD, alcohol use, and how she found peace by decluttering her life. She shared how she grappled with the root cause of her drinking habits - was it her unhappy job or the alcohol itself that was causing her distress?
Through her path to recovery, Meg discovered a newfound sense of self-awareness and eventually pursued her passion for decluttering by starting her own business. She found that the less clutter she had in her life, the more peace and serenity she experienced with her ADHD brain. Meg believes that simplicity equals peace and feeling less overwhelmed, and she is dedicated to helping others achieve this through practical tools and guidance.
During our conversation, Meg discussed how decluttering can bring a sense of freedom and serenity, especially when letting go of items that no longer serve a purpose. She emphasized the importance of releasing old belongings to make space for new opportunities and positive energy. Meg's coaching approach is personalized, as she understands that organizing looks different for everyone. By helping individuals identify what they truly value and what they can let go of, Meg empowers them to create a harmonious living environment.
Dawn shares a heartfelt story of letting go of the high chair that once held her children and grandchildren. She described the difficulty in letting go of the high chair because it was last used by Willy, her grandson who passes away. She she’s the process of understanding the high chair is not the memories and letting go allows her freedom and peace.
Meg also touched on the concept of living abundantly by using what you have, rather than hoarding possessions that collect dust. She encourages her daughters to pursue their passions and live authentically, showing them that a fulfilling life is one that is aligned with their true desires.
Overall, Meg's story is a testament to the transformative power of decluttering and living intentionally. Through her work and personal journey, she inspires others to let go of what no longer serves them and embrace a life filled with purpose and joy.
