This week on The Creative Leap, Polly Vadasz, the illustrator and product designer behind Sighh. If you don't know already, Sighh sells amazing hand crafted products including phone cases, laptop skins, enamel pins, stickers and so much more, all covered in Polly's amazing designs. As well as this, Polly is also a full time student studying Illustration at Leeds and it amazes me that she managed to run a business alongside completing a degree.

We chat about sourcing good suppliers, balancing running a business with university and her creative process when it comes to creating unique products.

The week on The Creative Leap, my guest is fashion photographer Lauren Shipley! She is based in Brighton and works mainly with bloggers but also with brands and I have loved her work every since I found her on Instagram. She also blogs at Britton Loves and writes about vegan and cruelty free beauty and lifestyle.

Lauren and I met when I was down in Brighton for an event and I was so pleased that we could meet up and chat in person. We talked about using your location as a business niche, making time for yourself to get away from work and how community over competition can deal with imposter syndrome.

This week, my guest is Ella Masters, a commercial artist and illustrator who’s work I first found on Instagram. She specialises in quirky quotes and colourful paintings which she sells as prints, bags and ceramics and also does commission work which has seen her collaborating with amazing brands such as Anthropologie, Lancome, Caffe Nero and Shake Shack to name a few.

I met Ella in a little cafe in London and picked her brain about taking the leap and becoming a full-time commercial artist. We talk about the comparison trap in the creative industry, why starting a blog can lead to a business and how to deal with the tricky subject of pricing.

I recently met up with Lola Hoad in her amazing space in Brighton and had to pick her brain on all things business and being a 'slashy'. Lola started her journey as a designer, went on to create female business collective, One Girl Band and now is a creative coach, writer and podcaster. Having so many job titles is such a new concept but Lola does it perfectly and manages to keep a balance with everything she does. 

We talk about how self-care comes into a work/life balance, why talking about money is crucial for entrepreneurs and how your idea of success has to keep evolving if you want to be 'successful'.
