The Credible Teacher

I review a great article by William A. Haskins from McKendree College (March, 2000) identifying the four aspects of teacher credibility (trust, competence, dynamism, immediacy) and suggestions for improving it in the classroom.

Reflected on giving a student the opportunity to come up with their own consequences for behavior in the classroom, how it's different from what I used to do and how it builds trust.

I share how I got into my daily gratitude practice and why it makes me a better teacher than I was before I started it.

Reflected on my thoughts about why I'm asking students to evaluate me and review the questions I asked. I share my initial thoughts from the results and find some themes about what I'm doing well and what I need to improve on based on student perspective.
