Over the years there have been many well known black poets. In the arts, we've had to fight to have our say. Fight to have our books published. Fight to own the rights to our words. Through all of those who fought before me I'd never want to be anything but a poet in the black. What has poetry in the blck done for you?

Everyone has a boiling point. Eventually you will say it with your chest. The truth will push out no matter how hard someone tries to stifle it. They say black Americans badger you with never forgetting that our ancestors were slaves and that we never got any reparations for that. Truths have a funny way of snatching reparations one way or the other. Tune in now!

Books about different cultures apart from ours. Where do we draw the line? Is one race's history the only history we should know? I would think not! Hidden in this piece are banned book titles. There are too many wars going on across the pond. There are too many children dying as casualties of war and never getting the chance to just be. Mothers dying on cold streets. Kids losing lives in classroom. Hiding from enemy lines and although I can't be there in the natural I can be there in spirit and advocate to stop the genocide from both sides. How much more death has to be done before it's over? How many generations have to wiped off the planet to get the message? Tune in.

Happy Mother's Day. In this episode, I pay homage to my lineage of mothers before me. What they stood for, What some died for, What some lived for. Although everyone before me were broken in some way, their pieces shaped a whole me. I pray this piece keeps you close to your mom. If your mom is no longer here, I pray this piece makes you reflect on your mom. Although she may be gone, like an avatar she lives in you and you can pull from your DNA at any time.
