tick, tick … BOOM!: Reviewed!
Your boys here on the Cccappraisalhour.show love films. So we are so happy to review one as it’s been a hot minute since we reviewed one. And speaking of minutes. Time is ticking podcast listeners! It’s always ticking away, the countdown is always at hand. Time is always speeding up, we’re ever-approaching the big moment and then it’s finally here whether you like it or not, the time will finally come and … BOOM! The CCCAH review of tick, tick … BOOM! drops. Oh yeah! You’ve been waiting (have you?! How??) and it’s finally here!
We are ticking and we are booming up a storm and we are the podcast that, apparently, gives you TWELVE SEPARATE NUMBERS to consider on a weekly basis. That’s right! Three guesses apiece (six total) and three scores apiece (another six total)! The wildest maths! It occurred to us during the episode and we laughed a lot. We hope you laugh a lot too. At us, with us, whatever. Even if you, like us, struggle to convey to newbies how fun the concept of our podcast is.
Today you loyal listeners will be blessed with a cold open chock full of 30 second game goodness and all! So you know we’re on it from the jump! Enjoy, sickos!

This is a really fun feature on the making of the film on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fe4P7_SbWs
The BBC has a fun article on the making of the film: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-59323479
Richard brody has many thoughts about the film. All very interesting. But unfortunately for those more inclined to bias and defending the Garfield no matter what (where are you Amelia!?) he’s not been invited to the Andrew Garfield Appreciation Hub and clearly he’s not working for the Andrew Garfield Appreciation Hour podcast: https://www.newyorker.com/culture/the-front-row/tick-tick-boom-reviewed-the-hole-at-the-center-of-lin-manuel-mirandas-movie-musical-adaptation
In this clip from the Late Show with David Letterman, our hero Norm Macdonald discusses kickboxing, Pump Friction and (as mentioned on the pod) The Theatre! The NMAH is back baby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wnKYVhyraA
Doesn’t The Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened look like such a fun time? What a title. Concept. Everything. Inject it. Stephen Sondheim-guy status incoming, with docs like this floating about, I’m telling ya: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Best_Worst_Thing_That_Ever_Could_Have_Happened
Ok but let’s all chill about becoming Sondheim-guys, yeah, let’s chill the fuck out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1N6Egb8Bnko
Let’s all look up Jonathan Larson and learn about him please, enough Sondheim nonsense (how good was the portrayal of Bradley Whitford though … and I say that as someone who doesn’t really know if he’s doing an impersonation as such or not): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Larson
