Welcome to yet another episode of the Cultural Content Consumption Appraisal Hour and that’s right, your boys are finally world cup boys once more! It’s been a long time coming. Our podcast kind of started after one of those pesky old world cup tournaments. And then we lived through a Euros, shout out. One game even got reviewed on the podcast because of course it did. 

And now here we are. On the precipice of all the glory and/or tragedy. Which do you prefer listener? I think one doesn’t taste quite the same without the other, to be honest with you. But hey. What do I know? I’m just a guy. A guy who will never and has never used AI to write these shownotes. What the fuck do you take me for? I will bash these show notes out with a chisel until the day of our final episode. I’ll tell you when I’ll give up my battle against AI. When it’s AI England vs AI Croatia in the group stages. GUY MONTGOMERY’S GUY MONT SPELLING BEE SEASON 2 EPISODE 6: Reviewed! 

Today we are really CCCAHing it up! We’re reviewing another fun game show. And that is fun because, when you really think about it … we’re a fun game show also! I mean, the fun part is arguable, but in theory, that’s what we do here on the programme. So it’s like mirror images. Maybe the fourth season of the Spelling Bee will feature a round spelling all the things we’ve reviewed on the Triple C Appraisal Hour. That remains to be seen. But Guy Montgomery seems like such a lovely bloke so I’m going to go ahead and say it’s probably a dead cert to happen.

THE RAMEN GIRL: Reviewed! 

Roll up, roll up. To the Ramen girl initiated and the about-to-be-Ramen-girl-initiated! It’s your favourite podcast about someone who wins the review game and your favourite sport about two people who share cultural interests. 

All the “it’s Thursday you know what that means” vibes you can shake a stick at on today’s episode, on this, the 4th of the 6th month of the year. And if you too are wondering how we already in the 6th month of the year then all I can say is … you need to take a good look over your balcony at the glowing ramen house over yonder and see if it elicits any feelings in you. RUNNER’S WORLD MAY ISSUE: Reviewed! 

What we talk about when we talk about podcasting. Well. We did it gang! We’re here. At the finish line. Dead. We ran the London Marathon! Success, just about! MICHAEL: Reviewed!

It’s a Michael special! That’s right. The movie Michael. The Michael Jackson biopic. Christopher wanted to do a A Complete Unknown but for him this time. Well you got it buddy. Maybe we didn’t get a whole movie day in town for it but still. We both watched the film (and scored it? Why lol) and then talked about it for an hour. Which is literally all we want. 

I can’t believe it. He can’t believe it. You can’t believe it. What are we doing here? I kind of can’t remember a time when I didn’t associate Michael Jackson with Christopher Anousis and vice versa. I’m sure I was aware of MJ before I met CA. But then I met CA … and just a few short years later we started the CCCAH, you know the story by now. Who should play us in the biopic? I think I’ll be played by BJ Novak and Christopher will be played by Jim from The Office. What’s his name? You know, Emily Blunt’s husband. Jack Ryan. Hey, wait, these dudes are too American. Ok I’ll be played by Riz Ahmed and Christopher will be played by Stavros Halkias lol close enough, whatever. This is why you just get your brother’s kid to play you. It’s easier. 

I’ll never forget when Michael Jackson died. Christopher was at Glastonbury. I was not. I literally called him when I saw the news. And I rarely will call. But this time called for a call. We just chatted for a few minutes but I had to check in. I’ll never forget it. He has probably forgotten it for years and just now reading it in the show notes he’s like “wait, did that for real happen?” My friend. I can assure you it did. And then you saw The Boss and Neil Young without me ugh whatever.

Albums Only Club will be a new ad-hoc series in which we review an ALBUM whenever we feel we have absorbed the album properly (20 listens minimum gang, anyone?) whether that be a week, one month or several months between. Christopher’s pitch started us off with The Parlour by Picture Parlour and this week Jeffrey’s first pitch for episode 2 is Signed, Sealed and Delivered by Stevie Wonder.

Stevie Wonder is a pretty famous singer. One of the best-selling music artists of all time and currently 75 years old. This album we are discussing today is (depending on where you start with his discography) either his 11th or 12th studio album, though it is still often thought of as one of his best early albums. 

In terms of scores in this bonus series, we’re doing out of ten and averages. Stevie. I know your career has been an absolutely glittering showcase of achievements and triumph so far but this out of 10 rating bestowed upon you by the AAACH, via the good people at the CCCAH is truly what you have been waiting for. RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE SEASON 18 EPISODE 15: Reviewed! 

We done already had ourses! Have you had yourses? Well you haven’t had your fill yet because it’s Thursday and you know what that means. It’s cccappraisalhour.show time baby! And this week it’s THE RETURN OF THE RU! That’s right. Christopher copied the *teasing run times* pitch and we elected for the hour long material. So here we are again. Genuinely years later. The scene of the crime. The werkroom. Am I doing the lingo right so far? 

If anything, at this point, we’re due another special. We’ve just been doing regular episode after regular episode recently. What is this, the regular episode show!? tick, tick … BOOM!: Reviewed! 

Your boys here on the Cccappraisalhour.show love films. So we are so happy to review one as it’s been a hot minute since we reviewed one. And speaking of minutes. Time is ticking podcast listeners! It’s always ticking away, the countdown is always at hand. Time is always speeding up, we’re ever-approaching the big moment and then it’s finally here whether you like it or not, the time will finally come and … BOOM!
