But in 1888, Kelly escapes—around the same time the Ripper murders begin—and suspicion grows that he could be the infamous killer.
Kelly’s path takes him to France and America, fueling theories that he may have continued his killing spree abroad. Over the years, Kelly makes multiple attempts to turn himself in, only for law enforcement to miss opportunities to capture him. In 1927, a broken and deaf Kelly knocks on Broadmoor’s door, requesting to return—a truly bizarre and unique case in criminal history.
