  • 043: How to Be A Better Ally for People with Disabilities // Carden Wyckoff (Freewheelin With Carden)

Carden Wyckoff is one fascinating individual. On her podcast, Carden interviews guests with both visible and non visible disabilities to share their story and shed light onto disability awareness.

In this episode Carden sat down with me to help educate me further on the lives of those with disabilities.

Through our conversation Carden and I chatted about:

    • her personal journey with FSHD (facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy) and the progression it has had throughout her life

  • 040: Why Everything Society Tells Us About Addiction Is Wrong // Cory Martin (The Recovery Revolution)

This episode was quite a powerful one for me.

For the past few months I have been trying to learn more about addiction - the history of how our society views addiction, uncovering the false information that built the foundation of our ideas around it, what addiction truly is, the factors that are in place that lead one to addiction, places in the world that are going against the grain and making positive change for addicts and how we view addiction, etc.

This lead to me to Cory and the work that she is doing with The Recovery Revolution.

The Recovery Revolution's mission is to unify those suffering from addiction with their families and loved ones, and to provide functional, personal, and medically sound solutions for the families and loved ones of those struggling with substance abuse.

    During our conversation Cory shared:

    • what is The Recovery Revolution & how it began
    • Cory shared with me a bit about her own journey with addiction / recovery
    • the opposite of addiction is connection
    • why we need to change our mindset on mental health and addiction
    • addiction = adaptation
    • the effect our culture has on relationships & addiction
    • advice Cory would give to someone who is supporting a loved one who struggles with addiction
    • further resources

    and more!

  • 038: What Is Masculine & Feminine Energy? // Brandon Archer

Welcome to my conversation with men's work coach Brandon Archer. In this episode we journeyed through all things Masculine and Feminine Energy.

The Divine energies (masculine and feminine energies) are energies and traits that are contained within each of us regardless of our gender. Normally we will each have a more dominant energy within us. When we come together in union, enter specific situations, or integrate into any form of relationship different parts of these energies will come out.

In order for any dynamic to work there needs to be polarity. Brandon and I explored what the polarities look like in our relationships, including the relationship we have with ourselves.

    During our conversation we covered:

    • what masculine and feminine energy are
    • we broke down what masculine and feminine traits are
    • what unhealthy, toxic, or unbalanced energies look like and were they stem from
    • how to heal unhealthy energy
    • how to step into your masculine or feminine in a healthy way
    • the role that the energies within relationships
      • how to find balance
      • the importance / role of polarity
    • I closed out the conversation asking Brandon how he teaches his children about the energies (I found his answer very interesting)

  • 037: Going Inwards Through Yoga & Meditation // Laura Aitkens (eyeofthewheel)

In this deep dive I sat down with Laura Aitken from Eye of The Wheel.

Laura was not always the calm, empowered, and wise energy that she is now. Prior to discovering yoga and mediation, she was anxious, indecisive, and was constantly looking externally for validation. It was one day on the yoga mat during her yoga teacher training where she sat down to meditate that she first felt that feeling of inner joy. After becoming certified in yoga teacher training she then dove head first into meditation through the Chopra Centre.

In our conversation we chatted about:

    • her journey to discovering yoga & mediation
    • why she decided to pursue yoga training
    • what it felt like to meet herself and dive inwards
    • Laura unboxes the type of mediation practice she teaches and why she chose it
    • thoughts - we are not everything we think
    • leading with curiosity
    • empathy
      • how do you feel empathetic without having other people’s emotions stick to you
      • how to protect your energy
      • making life choices around the awareness of your empathy
    • how to create healthy relationships within your life
