  • Discovering Inner Peace Through Daily Rituals

On this D Shift episode, I have a chat with the incredible Tessa Lynne Alburn, a soul connection coach and an expert in feminine energy. Tessa's on a mission to help spiritually inclined women live their best lives by sparking their souls, broadening their horizons, and boosting their vibes. We get into her journey, which started as a shy kid finding comfort in nature, and how she blossomed into a master healer. Tessa talks about the shift towards embracing nontraditional healing methods and how that’s changed the game for so many of us.

We touched on how life's big changes, like divorce or moving, can be super stressful, and Tessa shared some great tips on handling this stress. She’s all about creating little rituals in our daily hustle, like savoring your morning coffee or using essential oils to hit the reset button. Her point? It’s about finding ways to feel good and centered, even when everything’s a bit crazy.

Tessa also talks about the importance of facing stress head-on rather than brushing it under the rug. It’s about working through those inner conflicts to find a happier, more balanced self. So, if you're looking for some down-to-earth advice to bring more peace and joy into your life, this episode is a must-listen. Don’t forget to check out Tessa’s podcast, Say Yes to Your Soul, for more awesome insights!

  • Finding Hidden Assets: Tips From A Forensic Accountant

In this episode, we explore a critical issue in many divorces with a focus on uncovering hidden money and financial mischief that may arise during this challenging time. My guest is Tracy Coenen, a seasoned fraud investigator and forensic accountant for over 25 years, shares her expertise on navigating the murky waters of financial distrust during divorce.

We discuss the nuanced world of hidden assets in divorce. Tracy introduces her innovative Divorce Money Guide, designed to equip individuals with straightforward, actionable steps to identify financial discrepancies without needing an accounting background. She emphasizes that understanding your financial situation is paramount, even if you have limited knowledge of your marital financial issues.

Throughout the episode, Tracy highlights practical examples, such as detecting secret bank accounts or unusual withdrawals and making financial conversations approachable for everyone. She also touches on more complex issues like overseas accounts and cryptocurrency, providing insight into how the courts handle these matters. Tracy's advice is straightforward: gather account statements, follow a structured process, and, if necessary, work with your attorney to ensure all assets are accounted for.

Tracy’s Divorce Money Guide and her numerous online resources empower individuals to take charge of their financial future during divorce. Join us for an enlightening discussion that could make a significant difference in how you navigate the financial challenges of divorce. Tune in, take notes, and prepare yourself with the knowledge you need to protect your assets.

    About the Guest:

Tracy Coenen has been investigating fraud for more than 25 years, but she didn’t always want to be a forensic accountant. With a dream of one day being a prison warden, Tracy went to Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI to get a criminology degree. A class on financial crime investigations reminded her how much she loved Encyclopedia Brown books as a kid. She continued her criminology degree, but added accounting and economics courses so she could become a CPA… and here Tracy is, finding money in cases of corporate fraud, high net worth divorce, and other financial shenanigans.

  • Understanding Money Types And Why They Matter

In this year-end episode, I have a great conversation with Christine Mathieu, a seasoned financial coach with over 30 years of experience. Christine opens up about her unique background, which spans surviving cancer, experiencing divorce and bankruptcy, and transitioning from a career in banking to a fulfilling path in financial coaching.

Christine introduces a fascinating online money types quiz designed to help individuals uncover their subconscious relationships with money, emphasizing that this understanding is crucial, especially for those navigating life transitions like divorce. The quiz, which takes roughly five minutes to complete, offers participants a subsequent 45 to 60-minute session with Christine to explore their results, providing invaluable insights into their financial habits.

Throughout the episode, Christine discusses the eight money archetypes that shape our financial decisions, shedding light on how divorcees often fall into patterns of financial anxiety and self-doubt, particularly those with 'innocent' and 'victim' tendencies. She highlights the importance of self-awareness and the power of conscious decision-making in overcoming these limiting beliefs.

We discuss viewing money and divorce as "classrooms" for self-discovery, encouraging listeners to shift perspectives and reclaim their financial agency. With neuroscience insights and personal anecdotes, Christine emphasizes the role of intentional thinking in breaking free from deep-seated patterns around how we deal with money.

    About the Guest:

Christine Mathieu defines wealth as a state of well-being, beyond what one has or makes, and believes our purpose is to align our financial decisions with a life that supports both personal and collective fulfillment. A survivor of cancer, divorce, and bankruptcy, she understands major life transitions and has learned that trusting yourself often leads to wonderful and unimaginable outcomes.

As a Certified Money Coach (CMC®) with decades of experience as a financial advisor and wealth coach, Christine helps individuals transform their relationship with wealth by shifting their beliefs about themselves and what they think is possible. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Metaphysical Science and is an ordained Metaphysical Minister. “Coffee” is Christine’s favorite time of day, spirituality is her favorite subject, and you will often find her on the sidelines of a soccer field cheering on her boys.

  • Financial Strategies For Post-Divorce Peace Of Mind

On this episode, I have the privilege of speaking with Neil Palache, an experienced divorce consultant and founder of the Wealth Creator Company for Women. Neil brings over 15 years of expertise in financial coaching, having transitioned from life insurance and financial services to a focus on guiding women through the financial intricacies of divorce. He has also founded Divorce Transition Professionals (DTP), a national network facilitating collaboration among divorce professionals.

Together, we look into essential financial considerations during the divorce journey. Neil outlines his holistic approach, encompassing pre, pending, and post-divorce phases. He emphasizes the importance of understanding your financial landscape before divorce proceedings begin, providing guidance on budgeting, asset division, and potential outcomes concerning spousal and child support.

Neil's insights include advice on hiring the right professionals to navigate complex financial scenarios and the significance of mutual respect between divorcing partners. He encourages a fair division of assets, enabling both parties to live reasonably post-divorce, and shares insights into maintaining civility for the sake of any children involved.

Neil and I both advocate for amicable resolutions, highlighting that animosity in divorce only depletes communal assets and strains future familial relationships. With practical examples and heartfelt advice, this episode offers invaluable guidance on managing finances and fostering healthier separations.
