Bad Decisions
Which side of a Bad Decision do you want to live on?
Meaning.. Don’t we always get better after making an error, and errors are many times results of bad decisions.
Yet, some bad decisions can cost us everything. Isn’t that how we decide whether we will continue on, or stop. We somehow ask ourselves. Can I live with the result of this decision.
If it is a donut and we are breaking from a keto plan. We may justify we have to do a few more reps or jog around the neighborhood later. Or maybe we are “celebrating”, for all the good decisions we have made all week and now we can let loose.
The outcome is quite different than say, you are noticing the secretary and how she looks at you. In the back of your mind you are playing out a fantasy and now she seems to be joining you. What will you decide? It's no longer a few calories. This could cost you everything.. Your job, your career, your character, your marriage, your family.
Good front side decisions understand back side consequences better than anything. Bad front side decisions lead us down slippery slopes and next thing we know we are sliding faster than we can imagine.
I love to think about Paul when he was writing Philippians. And particularly Phil 4:8-13.. Context is everything.
Here he is in prison. Cold, wet, knowing this is the end. Yet, he is still writing to us about what to think about. Yet he keeps his decision to serve the top of his agenda. That my friends is a good decision in a situation that drives bad ones.
Enjoy.. Keep serving and loving your family
