Yesterday, many watched as Sibongile Mani was sentenced to five years imprisonment. She was the student from Walter Sisulu University who found R8 million in her student from NSFAS. She was prosecuted and convicted for spending R800 000.
Social media was outraged by not only the harshness of the sentence but the fact that the court would not suspend the sentence. Many pointed out several high profile politicians and businessmen are still walking free despite charges of corruption.
